It is ideal for all life safety and property protection applications, and is intended for both commercial and industrial use. It is designed with extensive programmability that allows the almost-instantaneous relay of information and the ability to perform process management tasks with ease including HVAC shutdowns, Emergency Voice Evacuation Systems, damper control, door closure, elevator recall, security, and CCTV/Building Management Awareness. This cost-effective panel comes standard with one Signaling Line Circuit (SIC) that support 50 devices, with any mix and match of sensors and modules. The Cheetah Xi 50 utilizes extreme intelligence via its Eclipses based sensors including photoelectric, photoelectric with heat, ionization, photoelectric duct, and heat detectors. It also utilizes Eclipse based modules such as the monitor, mini-monitor, relay, intelligent pull station, releasing and control modules. With Cheetah Xi 50, every device communicates as a peer on the signaling line circuit. These peers not only communicate up-to-the-second information to the control panel, but also communicate with each other. Each device is capable of generating accurate and highly detailed information. Conventional suppression alarm systems give a general idea of the fire's location, while the Cheetah Xi 50's intelligent sensors indicate precisely which device is in an alarm state. This intelligence provides incredible speed with response times as little as one-quarter second between manual pull station and notification appliance. It's flexibility allows you to attach the intelligent devices that are required for your specific application. DATA SHEET The System is programmed with either the Windows based field configuration software C-LINX" or through a comprehensive password protected front-panel keypad programming option. This option allows you to quickly update and adapt to any future requirements or changes in the system such as changes in occupancy or remodeling. The sophisticated control panel circuitry coupled with the software allows you to read specific information and sensitivity levels of the different eclipse devices. The sensors also compensate for any changes due to age, contamination, or other environmental factors. SYSTEM OPERATION The Cheetah Xi 50 Control system operates on a "Zone and State" relationship. In this design, all input and output devices must be assigned to at least one zone (253 are available), each one defining an area to be protected. Input devices can be assigned up to 253 zones (one zone is typical) and output devices may be configured for up to 254 zones. APPROVALS: UL Listed - S2203 FM Approved -3029134 CSFM - 7165-0900:149 City of New York - 307-05-E Vol. 2 City of Denver State of CA Seismic - OSP-007 These devices use the SLC signaling line circuit to exchange status information with other devices as well as with the control panel. When an input is activated, it is configured to cause its associated zone to enter into an operational state. Any detection device will cause the associated zone to enter into an alarm state. F M U The output devices are configured to activate to protect and evaluate the endangered zone. This system is completely modular, allowing you the flexibility to design a system that is just right for your application. A APPROVED typical configuration is shown on page 2 that illustrates the communications of a Cheetah Xi 50 system. ':;" •' - Form No. D.120.01-2 704 SW 10th Street • P.O. The sensing chamber employs features that minimize the effect of settled dust on performance. The detector is designed with tn-color LEDs to indicate detector status. A remote LED annunciator, P/N 02-3868, is available as an accessory. It can be configured to follow the detector LED operation or be independently controlled. The isolator version, P/N 63-1058, provides complete short circuit isolation for NFPA 72, Class X wiring if used with an isolator base. The detector is compatible with Fike's CyberCat® and Cheetah® Xi intelligent control panels. Its operating parameters are configured using the panel's programming software and are stored within non-volatile RAM in the detector. This on-board intelligence allows each detector to communicate its status directly to other devices connected to the panel. This peer-to-peer digital protocol results in less information that needs to be sent between the detector and the host control panel, resulting in faster, more reliable communication. These contacts can be used to initiate emergency control functions (i.e., damper closure, fan control, door holder interface, elevator recall, etc.). There is also an input that is capable of monitoring a dry set of contacts for open or closed conditions. The module has a multi-color LED that will illuminate a unique color for instant status indication (Green for normal operation, Red for device active, and Yellow for device trouble). The isolator version of the module, P/N 55-048, provides complete short circuit isolation for installations requiring NFPA, Class X wiring. The module is compatible with Fike's CyberCat® and Cheetah® Xi intelligent control panels. Its operating parameters are configured using the panel's programming software and are stored within non-volatile RAM in the module. This on-board intelligence allows each module to communicate its status directly to other devices connected to the panel. This peer-to-peer digital protocol results in less information that needs to be sent between the module and the host control panel, resulting in faster, more reliable communication. Color Lens Attachments install easily on any indoor or outdoor SpectrAlert Advance strobe devices to provide distinctive visual signaling. WTP Series Weatherproof Plates enable installers to flush mount outdoor horns, strobes, horn strobes, speakers, and speaker strobes to a variety of wall surfaces, including brick, ceramic tile, concrete, and masonry brick. These NEMA 311-rated plates come in red and white to suit aesthetic and functional requirements. They may be used indoors or outdoors (with outdoor devices), as required by conditions. They easily attach to the SpectrAlert Advance universal mounting plate. Trim Rings for speakers and speaker strobes allow for additional space within the backbox. Trim rings for APPROVALS: horns, strobes, and horn strobes allow 4-wire devices to mount to a single-gang back box. UL-51383 SpectrAlert Advance Outdoor Back Boxes ensure a NEMA 4X watertight listing for AV devices. In locations FM -3006185 where you have a hard surface to mount to, Surface Mount Back boxes are the best solution. If you have an CSFM - 7272-0410107 exposed junction box, the Back Box Skirts offer an attractive solution to mask the junction box exposure. Retrofit Plates cover paint outlines on the wall when replacing legacy SpectrAlert Advance products. SpectrAlert Advance DECALS are for use on our non-pad printed wall- and ceiling-mount devices. Each decal comes with AGENT, EVAC, ALERT, or FIRE label options. The Sync.Circuit Module synchronizes SpectrAlert Advance strobes at 1 Hz and horns and chimes at temporal 3 over a single pair of wires. Patented module technology also allows the silencing of horns or chimes on horn strobe and chime strobe models over a pair of wires. See Datasheet A05-1007-005 for more information. Cylinders should be located in clean, drya nd relativelyvi bration-free areas. Avoid a isles and other high traffic areas where physical damage orta mpe ring is more likely. Cylinders should never be mounted where the cyl indercould potentially be splashed with, ors ubmerged in any liquid. Cylinderstorge location must be within a temperature of -4°F to +120°F(-20°Cto +49°C) for system components to function properly. Cylinder brackets must be mounted securelyto solid load-bearingsurfacesthatwill support the cylinder load. Some installations may require additional mounting support not supplied byFike. Cylinders should belocatedto alloweasyaccessibilityto the actuation package for manual release of the system. Manual release is achieved by removing the locking pin and pressingthe red manual activation strike knob on the UVO. This will initiate the pneumatic discharge sequence. WARNING: The Prolnertvalve Pneumatic Actuator should always be the last component installed on any Fike Prolnert system. PROCEDURE: Step 1: Confirm the cylinder location and mount the cylinder rack and manifold support. Step 2: Positionthe cylinders in the racking. Do NOT removethe safety/shipping cap until the cylinders are fullymounted. Generally discharge outlets will be to the right and at an angle of 45 degree to the wall. Step 3: Secure the cylinders and mount the manifold. Step 4: Fit the discharge hose assemblies to the manifold. Step 5: Install and test the discharge pipe network. Step 6: Remove the safety/shipping caps and valve outlet capsretain for future use.) Step 7: Connect discharge hose to valve outlet. Step 8: Remove and retain the Pressure Gauge port plug. Step 9: Screw in the pressure gauge assembly (hand tight) until resistance is felt. Use lockingpliers orwrench to screw in the pressure gauge assembly until it bottoms out. For correct orientation, unscrew pressure gauge assembly up to 1 turn. Step 10: Remove and retain the blanking plug from the valve actuation port. Step 11: For i nslallalion details for conneclingthe UVO, Re layActua tor, Pneumatic Actuator and pilot hoses to each cylinder valve refer to the Equipment Section. Do NOT attach the UVO to the cylindervalves until the system is fully commissioned. Copyright © Fike Corporation Ail Rights Reserved. 7of7 Form No. C.1.55.O1-3, January, 2016. Fikee DATA SHEET PROINERT®2 DISCHARGE MANIFOLD DESCRIPTION When utilizing multiple cylinders or a "Connected Reserve" supply of cylinders in a common cylinder bank a discharge manifold is necessary. Multiple cylinders may be connected to a common discharge manifold to allow delivery of agent through a single piping network. Fike does NOT manufacture / offers pre-assembled Discharge Manifolds. Each manifold is designed to be connected to the cylinder via a Check Valve and Discharge Hose and comes ready assembled. Mount the discharge manifold to a solid structural member such as the racking uprights using pipe clamps or U-bolts, the manifold should not be supported by the cylinders. Care must be taken to ensure that the manifold is not located at a height or location that is not compatible with the length of the discharge bend(s). Mount manifold with inlet for discharge hose with check valve oriented downward as illustrated above. Approximate distance from the cylinder valve outlet and the center line of the manifold piping is 9" to 12" (229 to 305 mm). The manifold piping should be secured with pipe hangers or brackets to support the manifold when the cylinders are removed for service. For multi row racking a separate manifold shall be used for each row. These will be joined at the ends. If accessories such aspressure switches, safety relief device, etc. are required, make certain that the manifold configuration includes the fittings necessary to make those connections. All closed closed pipe sections that could trap agent shall be provided with a safety relief device, manifold safety disc (P/N 1G71-076). This situation will occur if selector valves are incorporated into the system's piping network. F ike> PROINERT®2 HEADER SAFETY RELIEF DESCRIPTION The header safety is constructed of brass and is installed in a 1/2" (15mm) NPT tee or coupling located in the closed section of piping. Should the pressure in a closed section of piping increase to a level of 1,275 to 1,475 psig, the disc will burst and allow the pressure to be vented safely to atmosphere. APPLICATION The header safety relief is a device used to relieve a high pressure build-up in a closed section of piping. If actuation pressure is inadvertently trapped and, should an increase in temperature occur, it will cause the pressure to rise to a dangerous level, and the burst disc will rupture allowing the pressure to escape. All closed pipe sections that could trap agent shall be provided with a safety relief device, manifold safety disc (P/N IG71-076). This situation will occur if selector valves or stop maintenance valves are incorporated into the system's piping network. Assumptions and warnings While FanTestic Integrity software may identify clean agent peak pressure and hold time risks, use of this software does not in any way guarantee the elimination of those risks. Enclosure Integrity (hold time) The enclosure was tested in compliance with NFPA 2001 (2015 Edition) Annex C Enclosure Integrity Procedure. These tests only address potential failures in maintaining extinguishing agent concentration due to excessive enclosure leakage. The following assumptions were made: The initial extinguishing agent concentration as indicated in the test report will be achieved. Ductwork connected to air-handling systems that are outside this enclosure will be either isolated with dampers or will be shut down during the hold time. If air handlers are used to provide continuous mixing, they will be dedicated to this enclosure and will not create significant flows across the enclosure boundaries. An adequate return path for the air flow was provided during the enclosure integrity door fan tests. All intentional openings will be sealed during the enclosure leakage for hold time tests. Design temperature inside the tested enclosure during discharge is 70.0 °F. There are NO fans that continue running during the hold time or heat sources that will produce enough air circulation to cause a 'continuous mixing' condition within the entire enclosure. All other non-integrity tests, as outlined in the NFPA standard, will be satisfactorily completed. Enclosure Integrity (peak pressure) Enclosure integrity tests and calculations were performed to determine that the enclosure has adequate venting to provide peak pressure relief as required by NFPA 2001 (2015 Edition) section 5. Calculations for peak pressure were performed using equations from the Fire Suppression Systems Association (FSSA) "Pressure Relief Vent Guide". The following assumptions were made: All intentional openings will be set to the operating condition expected during the agent discharge for positive peak pressure relief when enclosure leakage is tested for positive vent area. In addition, for halocarbons only, all intentional openings will be set to the operating condition expected during the agent discharge for negative peak pressure relief when enclosure leakage is tested for negative vent area. Adequate air flow was provided along a path leading to outdoors for the test fan but the doors surrounding the enclosure were set in the position that provide the lowest air flow required to establish the required test pressures. 0 Design temperature inside the tested enclosure during discharge is 70.0 °F. Background Hold time prediction, Descending Interface Model This procedure predicts the hold time for the extinguishing agent/air interface to drop to the specified minimum protected height, based on the variables shown in this report. Due to the conservative assumptions regarding leakage distribution, this prediction model usually predicts a shorter retention time as compared to an actual discharge, but not always. This prediction only applies to conditions as found at the time of the test. Additional penetrations, weather, open doorways, HVAC modifications, malfunctions and the inherent assumptions in the enclosure integrity procedure could all combine to give very different results in a real discharge. Leakage area defined for hold time The Total Enclosure Leakage test measures all unintentional holes in the enclosure, the sub-floor and the above-ceiling space, whether or not extinguishing agent will leak out of these holes. All intentional openings (such as installed pressure relief vents) must be held in their closed position but not sealed. The measurement is performed over a range of pressures so that the exact leakage rate at lower pressures for agent loss will be known. The predicted hold time is worst case since it is assumed that half of the measured leakage is located in the ceiling and the other half is located in the floor. Leakage area defined for Peak Pressure Leakage for peak pressure does not depend on leak location, making the Total Enclosure Leakage test accurate for peak pressure prediction. All intentional openings (such as installed pressure relief vents) must held in the positions they are expected to be in during the positive peak pressure spike during discharge. For halocarbons, this test must be repeated where all intentional openings (such as installed pressure relief vents) must held in the positions they are expected to be in during the negative peak pressure spike during discharge. The measurement is performed over a range of induced test pressures so that the exact leakage rate at the higher reference pressure of 125 Pa for venting will be known. The predicted peak pressure will then be based on an enclosure leakage that accurately represents the free vent area faced by the agent discharge. Discussion of Results - SERVER ROOM Hold Time Compliance with Annex C of NFPA 2001 (2015 Edition) It is predicted that a Total Enclosure Leakage measurement of 91 sq in maintains the minimum concentration of 33.15% at the minimum protected height of 7.5 ft for 11.5 minutes. This hold time is greater than the specified minimum of 10 minutes, therefore the enclosure PASSES this acceptance procedure. It was assumed that there was no 'continuous mixing' condition during the hold time. Predicted hold time was therefore calculated based on a descending interface model. Peak Pressure Compliance with section 5 of NFPA 2001 (2015 Edition) 5.3.7: The protected enclosure shall have the structural strength and integrity necessary to contain the agent discharge. lithe developed pressures present a threat to the structural strength of the enclosure, venting shall be provided to prevent excessive pressures. And that the following shall be submitted for approval to the authority having jurisdiction: 5.1.2.2 (10): maximum positive and the maximum negative pressure... expected to be developed upon the discharge of agent 5.1.2.2 (28): pressure relief vent area... to prevent development of a pressure difference across the enclosure boundary that exceeds a specified enclosure pressure limit. Calculations for peak pressure, based on leakage area of Enclosure Only at a standard reference condition of 125 Pa and using no pressure relief vent (PRy), determined: The enclosure would represent a free vent area during discharge of 107 sq in with the enclosure setup in the condition expected to occur during the positive pressure pulse caused by the agent discharge which is predicted to be 608 Pa. This pressure is less than the specified maximum of 650 Pa, therefore the enclosure PASSES this acceptance procedure. Vents should be installed high in the enclosure so that mostly air is exhausted, instead of the heavier extinguishing agent. Additionally, the vents should be rated to fully open between 80-130 Pa. Once a vent is installed or it is decided to use leakage of the enclosure only to relieve pressures during discharge, the chosen venting situation is used to calculate expected peak pressure, and the available free vent area must be enough to relieve this peak pressure in order to pass. All leakage areas are extrapolated to a standard reference condition of 125 Pa which is representative of conditions where most of the peak pressure will be relieved. Peak pressure calculation detail Using the leakage area of Enclosure Only and equations from the Fire Suppression Systems Association (FSSA) "Pressure Relief Vent Guide": A peak positive pressure of approximately 608 Pa would form. Peak negative pressure will not form with agent IG-55. Free vent area required calculation detail Assuming an Enclosure Pressure limit of 650 Pa, this enclosure requires a total free vent area of 101 sq in in the positive direction to maintain the enclosure's structural integrity. Free vent area available calculation detail The leakage area during discharge will be: 107 sq in for the Enclosure Only with the enclosure set up in its Positive Discharge Period Condition, where any dampers or installed PRV were fixed in the position they would assume under +125 Pa. Additional PRV area required detail The Enclosure Only provides 107 sq in of positive venting area. Since this is more than the required total of 101 sq in, this enclosure does not require any additional PRV area to maintain structural integrity and pass the peak pressure procedure in the positive direction. Test Data Appendix- SERVER ROOM (add notes here) Enclosure Construction Data The maximum flooded height used in the calculations is 10.0 ft. The equipment was installed in the room, and the top of the rack was measured to be 7.5 ft, so 7.5 ft was taken as the minimum height for protection. Net protected volume used is 2,060 cu ft. Building elevation used is 400 ft, and the elevation correction factor used in the calculations is 0.986. Total Enclosure Leakage test data Based on measured values, the enclosure alone has an equivalent leakage area of 91 sq in at a reference pressure of 10 Pa. (add notes here) The following table represents the results from the enclosure integrity procedure carried out on the whole enclosure, with all intentional openings sealed. In the case where the leakage area of the PRV only was to be used for pressure relief, but leakage area for enclosure and vent was entered as the venting area dataset, to determine leakage area for pressure relief by PRV alone, the leakage of the enclosure would have been subtracted from the leakage of the venting dataset. In the case where the leakage area of the enclosure and PRV was to be used for pressure relief, but leakage area for vent only was entered as the venting area dataset, to determine leakage area for pressure relief by the enclosure and PRV, the leakage of the enclosure would have been added to the leakage of the venting dataset. Positive direction data The positive free vent area provided by the Enclosure Only is 107 sq in, for the enclosure set up in its Positive Discharge Period Condition, with all dampers or installed PRV fixed in the position they would assume under +125 Pa. The leakage of the Enclosure Only in the positive direction was obtained by measuring, and this leakage was manipulated as necessary to determine the leakage area of the Enclosure Only required for positive pressure relief. Negative direction data Peak negative pressure will not form with agent lG-55. Peak Pressure data Peak pressure was calculated using the leakage of the Enclosure Only and equations from the Fire Suppression Systems Association (FSSA) "Pressure Relief Vent Guide". FSSA equations depend on experimentally derived curves for peak pressure based on a Leak to Volume ratio for the enclosure. Peak negative pressure will not form with agent IG-55.
