We hand excavated two test holes to a depth of 3 feet below the existing grade. Samples were taken from that depth and laboratory tests for moisture and maximum density and optimum moisture were then determined. The in place moisture content was 15.3 per-cent. Maximum density (wet) is 134#/c.f. at 12 % moisture. This material is considered to be highly expansive and is currently at an excellent state for placement of concrete for structure foundation. The design for the planned foundation should take into consideration the expansive material found on this site.
