Field explorations were made to retrieve so il sampl·es in the center of the building pad. Test pits were dug to a depth of at least 2 feet bel ow finish grade and moisture samp l es were obtained at intermediate levels. We found the fi e ld moi sture to be 20.5 percent. A maximum dry density determination was performed in accordance with ASTM D1557 to ascertain optimum mo i sture content of the subject soil. The maximum density was found to be 116 .0 pcf at 14 .7 percent moisture. In conclusion, we find the fi e ld mo i sture exceeds the optimum by at leas t 3 percent which meets the minimum requirements. If you have any questions, please contact this office.
