Gentlemen: In accordance with your request we have performed a moisture test and site review on Lot 58 La Costa Meadows Unit No. 1, Map 6800. We have compared the configuration of the site to Benton Engineerings Original Soils Report project 68-11-23D, dated June 23, 1969. The results of our tests and observations are presented herein. Moisture tests we~e performed on the subject site and compared with the Optimum Moisture Content obtained from a procter test performed on a sample returned to the lab. The tests were conducted in accordance with A.S.T.M. Test Method D-1557-70. The results of t he tests are as foll ows: PROCTER: Maximum Dry Density 1. 867 gm/cc Optimum ¥oisture Content 12.0 % MOISTURE TESTS: T-1 @ 18" 16.9% T-2 @ 23" 14.8% The approximate location of the tests is shown on the attached Plate No. 1. SDE 1914 16 April 1980 Page Two Benton Engineering's Original Report spec~fied that moistures be maintained from 1% to 3% over Optimum Moisture for the top 24 inches. Test data indicates this requirement has been met. The subject site shows some minor erosion around a drain at the edge of the pad. With this minor exception the pad area appears to be in the same cor.di tion as originally graded. This area should be rebuilt with compacted fill and a downdrain installed. The downdrain as shown on the original grading plan had not been installed. This office has reviewed the Benton Engineering, Inc., report referenced on Page 1, covering the site. In our opinion the recommendations presented there are still valid, as no change in the soil conditions has occured. If there are any questions regarding this report, please do not hes itate to contact this office. This opportunity to be of service is greatly appreciated.
