ITEM NO._§E_ INITIATED BY: Traffic Safety Commission REQUESTED ACTION: Consider adopting a Traffic Safety Commission Resolution of Commendation for Mary Melideo. BACKGROUND: DATA: Commissioner Mary Melideo was appointed to the Traffic Safety Commission by the City Council in February 1983. She served on the Commission from April 1983 through April 1992, inclusive. Ms. Melideo was recently appointed to the Water Commission by the City Council. In the past, the Traffic Safety Commission has honored the Commissioner who has completed his/her term with a Resolution of Commendation. The attached commendation would honor Ms. Melideo for her nine years on the Traffic Safety Commission. The attached Resolution of Commendation is provided for Commission consideration. RECOMMENDATION: Action to be taken as determined by the Traffic Safety Commission. NECESSARY CI1Y COUNCIL ACTION: No action required. TRAFFIC SAFE1Y COMMISSION RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION OF MARY MELIDEO WHEREAS, Mary Melideo, was appointed to the Traffic Safety Commission in February 1983 by the City of Carlsbad City Council; and WHEREAS, Mary Melideo, has served on the Traffic Safety Commission from April, 1983 until April, 1992; and WHEREAS, the Traffic Safety Commission of the City of Carlsbad wishes to commend Mary Melideo for her earnest and faithful direction and participation in traffic and pedestrian safety and transportation planning matters brought before the Traffic Safety Commission. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Traffic Safety Commission of the City of Carlsbad does hereby extend its grateful appreciation to Mary Melideo for having diligently served the people of Carlsbad for the past nine years. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Traffic Safety Commission held on the 4th day of May, 1992, by the following vote to wit: AYES: ATTEST: ROBERT T. JOHNSON, JR., P.E.
