The consistency determination application must be submitted by appointment*. Please call 442- 339-2600 to make an appointment. HOW your application is processed: After a subrnittal is made, the project planner and project engineer will be assigned the project. Written responses to your submittal will be mailed following the Planning and Land Development Engineering review (and other divisions/departments as applicable) and should be received by you within thirty days after the review date. Please keep in mind that additional information may be requested in order to make a consistency determination and project issues of concern. Upon approval of a Consistency Determination, the City Planner will request the project applicant to submit two (2) blueline copies (24"x36") of all Consistency Determination exhibits to be stamped "Consistency Determination." Also, you may need to provide the City with a reproducible 24"x36" mylar copy of an amended Site Plan which must be stamped "Consistency Determination" to obtain the City Planner's signature. Please review Policy 35 (attached} to determine if your project qualifies for a Consistency Determination. Due to changes in the building occupancy and entrance, we are requesting relocation of the tenant sign location on the existing sign program to correspond with the updated entrance. This has already been approved by the Architectural Review Committee of the Carlsbad Research Center, with documentation attached. No other changes to the building are being made. The proposed plans for a single wall sign are consistent with the CRC Design Guidelines and the Island at Carlsbad Sign Program (October 18, 2016), therefore the submitted plans are considered APPROVED. Please note that with the approval of this tenant identification sign, there will now be four total tenant wall signs on this building (identified as 'Building 4' in the Island at Carlsbad Sign Program). Only four total wall signs are allowed on Building 4, therefore no new wall signs will be allowed. You may proceed with the construction and installation of your sign once a sign permit is obtained from the City of Carlsbad.
