deteriorating in small areas. Minor debris may be present. ' I ,
Severe damage or deterioration. The material is non-cohesive. Pieces are dislodged and debris is evident. Non-friable material has
become friable. I : I

Discussion/Recommendatiohs
'
All accessible areas were :inspected 'for possible :asbestos-containing materials. If
materials that are similar td those found to be asbestos containing are observed they
must be assumed positive urtil tested to prove otherVJise. 1
Due to the non-destructive[ nature of the survey, inaccessible areas !(such as i_nside
walls) were not sampled. If during renovation susp~ct materials are observed ir:, these
areas, bulk sampling and ~nalysis is recommende~ prior to resuming the renovation
activities. • I
9 X 9 Floor Tile
Asbestos fibers were detecfod in the 9 X 9 floor tile located in the living room under the
skip sheet and the west bedroom bottom layer. The 9 X 9 floor tile is in good condition.
Asbestos containing floor tile is considered to be non-friable with a low potential for fiber
release, unless aggressive1ly disturbed as occurs: in renovation or tiemolition.: This
I I material must be removed in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations
prior to renovation or demoli~ion. • I
I
Window Putty
Asbestos fibers were dete?ted in the window pu~ material located I on the exterior
windows. This material is in, fair condition. Window putty is considered ~o be friable with

a low potential for fiber release while in place. If t~is materi~I is distll!rbed, the !fiber
release potential can incr~ase significantly. Thi~ material must ~e remo~e;d in
accordance with all local, state and 'federal regulation~ prior to renovatio~ or dem9lition.
i I
Transite Vent Pipe I
Asbestos fibers are assumed present in the transite ient pipe located at the wall,~h~ater
unit. T_he tra~site vent pipe lis in go~d condition. This mat~rial _is nonlfriabl~ wit? l~w
potential for fiber release uriless broken, sanded, orl 9therwIse d1sturbe~. This IT)9tenal
must be removed in accor, ance with all local, stat1e, and federal regulations w\or to
renovation or demolition. : ' •

Penetration Mastic !
I
Asbestos fibers were assuhled present .in the pe~etration mastic. I he penetration
mastic appears to be good bondition. This materi~II was identified at roof pene~r~tions
(vents, ducts, etc.) on the ~oaf. This material is n~>n-friable and presbnts a very low
potential for fiber release if intact. This material must be removed in acdordance with all
local, state, and federal regJlations priOI'· to renovatioh or demolition.
