Recommended Action
Receive a preview of Summer Reading Adventure 2025.
Executive Summary
The board will receive an overview from staff on the Summer Reading Adventure 2025
program. The overview will include information such as this year’s theme, “Level Up At Your
Library,” dates, the participation process, updates from past years and program offerings.

The proposed action is not a “project” as defined by CEQA Section 21065 and CEQA Guidelines
Section 15378(b)(5) and does not require environment review under CEQA Guidelines Section
15060(c)(3) and 15061(b)(3), because the proposed action to report on the Summer Reading
Adventure program is an organizational or administrative government activity that does not
involve any commitment to any specific project which may result in a potentially significant
physical impact on the environment. Any subsequent action or direction stemming from the
proposed action may require preparation of an environmental document in accordance with
CEQA or CEQA Guidelines.

What is the Summer Reading Adventure?
Readers of all ages can earn rewards as they read
throughout the summer. Enjoy special events,
performances and educational programs all summer
long while earning rewards for reading.
This year’s theme, “Level Up at Your Library,”
encourages participants to explore new skills,
discover hobbies and find great books at all three
library locations.

• Register – Visit carlsbadlibrary.beanstack.org or
use the Beanstack Tracker app for Android or iOS.
Log into your account or create one if you are a
new reader.
• Record – Readers of all ages record their reading
minutes in Beanstack.
• Report – Children 12 and under can receive a
free book by sharing their recent reads with a
friendly volunteer in the children’s area of each
library location.
• Rewards – Rewards will be available for pickup
starting June 9 at all library locations.
