FIELD-PROGRAMMING FEATURES
OFFLINE PROGRAMMING: Create the entire program in
your office using a Windows®-based software package (or-
der programming kit VFWARDEN-CD separately). Up-
load/download system programming locally to the
FireWarden-100 in less than one minute.
AUTOPROGRAMMING: Command the FireWarden-100
to program itself (takes less than 30 seconds). In the Auto-
Program mode, the FireWarden-100 scans for all possible
devices at all addresses, stores the device types, and ad-
dresses found, and then loads default values for all op-
tions (General Alarm). It also checks for two or more de-
vices set to the same address.
ONLINE EDIT: While still providing fire protection, the
FireWarden-100 may be programmed from the front panel.
Simple menu trees displayed on the LCD allow the trained
user to perform all functions without referring back to the
programming manual.
ENGLISH LABEL LIBRARY: Quickly select labels from a
standard library of more than 50 adjectives/nouns, such as
"FLR 3 HALLWAY," or enter custom labels letter-by-letter.
Use recall function to repeat previously used label.
PROGRAM CHECK: Automatically catch common errors,
such as control modules not linked to any zone or input point.
MAINTENANCE ALERT
The FireWarden-100 continuously monitors each smoke
detector and is capable of reporting maintenance condi-
tions. This reduces the risk of false alarms due to dust
accumulation. Refer to the control panel installation
manual for more information.
AUTOMATIC TEST OPERATION
The FireWarden-100 performs an automatic test of each
detector every two hours. Failure to meet the test limits
causes a TESTF trouble type. System Reset clears this
trouble.
NFPA STANDARDS
The FireWarden-100 complies with the following NFPA 72
Fire Alarm Systems requirements:
LOCAL (Automatic, Manual, Waterflow and Sprinkler Su-
pervisory).
AUXILIARY (Automatic, Manual and Waterflow) (requires
4XTM).
REMOTE STATION (Automatic, Manual and Waterflow)
(requires 4XTM).
PROPRIETARY (Automatic, Manual and Waterflow).
CENTRAL STATION (Automatic, Manual and Waterflow,
and Sprinkler Supervised).

Auxiliary power output: specific application power 500 mA
maximum.
Output circuits:
+24 VDC filtered, regulated.
3.0 amps maximum for any one circuit.
Total continuous current for all outputs (stand-alone mode):
for FCPS-24S6: 4.0 amps maximum; for FCPS-24S8: 6.0
amps maximum.
Total short-term current for all outputs (NAC expander mode):
for FCPS-24S6: 6.0 amps maximum; for FCPS-24S8: 8.0
amps maximum.
Secondary power (battery) charging circuit:
Supports lead-acid batteries only.
Float-charge voltage: 27.6 VDC.
Maximum charge current: 1.5 amps
Maximum battery capacity: 18 AH.
APPLICATIONS
Example 1: Expand notification appliance power an addi-
tional 6.0 amps (FCPS-24S6) or 8.0 amps (FCPS-24S8). Use
up to four Class B (Style Y) outputs or four Class A (Style Z)
outputs (using ZNAC-4). For example, the FACP notification
appliance circuits will activate the FCPS when reverse-polar-
ity activation occurs. Trouble conditions on the FCPS are
sensed by the FACP through the notification appliance circuit.
Example 2: Use the FCPS to expand auxiliary regulated
24-volt system power up to 4.0 amps (FCPS-24S6) or up to
6.0 amps (FCPS-24S8). Both resettable and non-resettable
power options are available. Resettable outputs are created
by connecting the resettable output from the FACP to one or
both of the FCPS inputs.
Example 3: Use addressable control modules to activate
the FCPS instead of activating it through the FACP notification
appliance circuits. This typically allows for mounting the FCPS
at greater distances" away from the FACP while expanding
system architecture in various applications.
For example, an addressable control module is used to acti-
vate the FCPS, and an addressable monitor module is used to
sense FCPS trouble conditions. Local auxiliary power output from
the FCPS provides power to the
addressable control module.
"Addressable FACPS are capable
of locating control and monitor Style Y NAC or
modules at distances of up to Door Holder
10,000 feet (3048 meters). Power St

SYNC FOLLOWER/GENERATOR NOTE
In some installations, it is necessary to synchronize the flash
timing of all strobes in the system for ADA compliance. Strobes
accomplish this by monitoring very short timing pulses on the
NAC power which are created by the FACP. When installed at
the end of a NAG wire run, the FGPS-2456/-2458 can track
(i.e., "follow") the strobe synchronization timing pulses on the
existing NAG wire run. This maintains the overall system flash
timing of the additional strobes attached to the FCPS.
When the FCPS-24S6/-24S8 is configured (via DIP switch set-
tings) as a "sync follower," the FGPS's NAG outputs track the
strobe synchronization pulses present at the FGPS's sync in-
put terminal. The pulses originate from an upstream FACP or
other power supply.
When the FCPS-24S6/-24S8 is configured (via DIP switch set-
tings) as a "sync generator," the FGPS's sync input terminals
are not used. Rather, the FCPS is the originator of the strobe
synchronization pulses on the FGPS's NAG outputs. In 'sync
generator' mode, the sync type (System Sensor, Wheelock,
or Gentex) is selectable via DIP switch settings.

NOTU Fl ER" fIlIGINERING A MNUFWIUIlNC
by Honeywell 12 Clintonville Road. Northtord, Connecticut 06472 QUALITY SYSTEMS
APPLICATIONS
Use photoelectric detectors in life-safety applications to
provide a broad range of fire-sensing capability, espe-
cially where smoldering fires are anticipated. Ionization
detectors are often better than photoelectric detectors at
sensing fast, flaming fires.
CONSTRUCTION
These detectors are constructed of off-white LEXAN®.
NP-100(T) plug-in, low-profile smoke detectors are de-
signed to commercial standards and offer an attractive
appearance.
LEXAN® is a registered trademark of GE Plastics, a subsidiary
of General Electric Company.
INSTALLATION
NP-100(T) plug-in detectors use a detachable mounting
base to simplify installation, service and maintenance.
Mount base on box which is at least 1.5 inches (3.81 cm)
deep. Suitable boxes include:
4.0" (10.16 cm) square box with plaster ring.
4.0" (10.16 cm) octagonal box.
3.5" (8.89 cm) octagonal box.
Single-gang box.
NOTE: Because of the inherent supervision provided by the
SLC loop, end-of-line resistors are not required. Wiring T-
taps" or branches are permitted for Style 4 (Class B) wiring.
OPERATION
Each NP-100(T) uses one of 99 possible addresses on
the FireWarden-100 Signaling Line Circuit (SLC). It re-
sponds to regular polls from the system and reports its
type and status.
The NP-100(T) addressable photoelectric sensor's
unique unipolar chamber responds quickly and uniformly
to a broad range of smoke conditions and can withstand
wind gusts up to 4,000 feet-per-minute (20 rn/sec.) with-
out sending an alarm level signal. Because of its unipo-
lar chamber, the NP-100(T) is approximately two times
more responsive than most photoelectric sensors. This
makes it a more stable detector.
DETECTOR SENSITIVITY TEST
Each detector can have its sensitivity tested (required per
NFPA 72, Chapter 7 on Inspection, Testing and Mainte-
nance) when installed/connected to a FireWarden-100
addressable fire alarm control panel. The results of the
sensitivity test can be printed off the FireWarden-100 for
record keeping.

Section: Addressable
GENERAL
The NOTIFIER NOT-BG12LX is a state-of-the-art, dual-
action (i.e., requires two motions to activate the station)
pull station that includes an addressable interface (mounted
inside) for NOTIFIER's addressable FireWarden-100 fire
alarm control panel. Because the NOT-BG12LX is addres-
sable, the control panel can display the exact location of
the activated manual pull station. This leads fire service
personnel quickly to the location of the alarm.
FEATURES
Aesthetically pleasing, highly visible, dual-action design.
Meets ADA 5 lb. maximum pull force.
Easily operated (dual-action).
Attractive shape and textured finish.
Mounts, semi-flush, to a standard single-gang (2.125'
[5.398 cm] minimum depth), double-gang, or 4.0" (10.16
cm) square electrical box.
When the handle latches in down position, the word "AC-
TIVATED" appears at the top of the handle in bright yel-
low to clearly indicate the station has been operated.
Key/lock reset; needs only a 1/4-turn to lock/unlock.
Includes Braille text on station handle.
Captive screw terminals wire-ready for easy connection
to SLC loop (accepts up to 12 AWG/3.1 mm2 wire).
Optional trim ring (BG-TR).
Meets UL 38, Standard for Manually Actuated Signaling
Boxes.
Maintenance personnel can open station (for inspection
and testing) without causing an alarm condition.
Built-in bicolor LED, which is visible through the handle
of the station, flashes red in normal operation and latches
on steady red when in alarm.
ENGINEERING SPECIFICATIONS
Manual Fire Alarm Stations shall be non-code, with a key-
operated reset lock in order that they may be tested, and
so designed that after actual Emergency Operation, they
cannot be restored to normal except by use of a key. An
operated station shall automatically condition itself so as to
be visually detected as activated. Manual stations shall be
constructed of red-colored LEXAN® (or polycarbonate

INSTALLATION
The NOT-BG12LX can be semi-flush mounted into a single-
gang, double-gang, or standard 4.0" (10.16 cm) square elec-
trical outlet box, or surface mounted to the Model S13- 10 or
SB-I/O surface backbox. If the NOT-BG12LX is semi-flush
mounted, then the optional trim ring (BG-TR) may be used.
The BG-TR is usually needed for semi-flush mounting with
4.0" (10.16 cm) or double-gang boxes (not with single-gang
boxes).
CONSTRUCTION
Shell, door, and handle are molded of durable LEXAN® (or
polycarbonate equivalent) with a textured finish.
OPERATION
Pushing in, then pulling down on the handle causes it to
latch in the down/activated position. Once latched, the word
"ACTIVATED" (in bright yellow) appears at the top of the
handle, while a portion of the handle protrudes from the bot-
tom of the station. To reset the station, simply unlock the
station with the key and pull the door open. This action re-
sets the handle; closing the door automatically resets the
switch.
Manual stations connect with two wires to one of the control
panel SLC loops. Each manual station, on command from
the control panel, sends data to the panel representing the
state of the pull station switch. Two rotary decimal switches
allow address settings (01-99).

NC-100 and NC-i OOR N OT I F I E R® Control and Relay Modules
by Honeywell for the FireWarden-100
Section: Addressable
GENERAL
The NC-100 Addressable Control Module provides
NOTIFIER's FireWarden-100 intelligent control panels a su-
pervised Class B (Style Y) or Class A (Style Z) circuit for Noti-
fication Appliances (horns, strobes, etc.). Addressability al-
lows the NC-100 to be activated, either manually or through
panel programming, on a select (zone or area of coverage)
basis.
The NC-100R Addressable Relay Module provides the
FireWarden-100 system with two isolated sets of Form-C
dry-contact outputs for activating a variety of auxiliary de-
vices, such as fans, dampers, door holders, control equip-
ment, etc. Addressability allows the dry contact to be acti-
vated, either manually or through panel programming, on
a select basis.
FEATURES
Built-in type identification automatically identifies these
devices to the control panel.
Internal circuitry and relay powered directly by two-wire
SLC loop. The NC-100 module requires power (for
horns, strobes, etc.).
Integral LED 'blinks" green each time a communication
is received from the control panel and turns on steady
when activated.
High noise immunity (EMF/RFl).
The NC-100 may be used to switch 24-volt NAC power.
Wide viewing angle of LED.
SEMS screws with clamping plates for wiring ease.
Direct Decade 01-99 (FireWarden-100) entry of address.
APPLICATIONS
The NC-100 is used to switch 24 VDC audible/visual power.
The NC-100R may be programmed to operate dry contacts
for door holders, Air Handling Unit shutdown, etc.
CONSTRUCTION
The face plate is made of off-white Noryl®.
Controls include two rotary switches for direct-dial entry
of address (01-99 on the FireWarden-100).
The NC-100 is configured for a single Class B (Style Y)
or Class A (Style Z) Notification Appliance Circuit.
The NC-100R provides two Form-C dry contacts that
switch together.
OPERATION
Each NC-100 or NC-bOA uses one of 99 (FireWarden-
100) possible module addresses on a SLC loop. It re-
sponds to regular polls from the control panel and reports
its type and status, including the open/normal/short sta-
tus of its Notification Appliance Circuit (NAC). The LED
blinks with each poll received. On command, it activates

its internal relay. The NC-100 supervises Class B (Style Y)
or Class A (Style Z) notification or control circuits.
Upon code command from the panel, the NC-100 will dis-
connect the supervision and connect the external power
supply in the proper polarity across the load device. The
disconnection of the supervision provides a positive indi-
cation to the panel that the control relay actually turned ON.
The external power supply is always relay isolated from
the communication loop so that a trouble condition on the
external power supply will never interfere with the rest of
the system.
Rotary switches set a unique address for each module.
The address may be set before or after mounting. The
built-in TYPE CODE (not settable) will identify the module
to the control panel, so as to differentiate between a mod-
ule and a sensor address.

SINGLE & MULTI-CANDELA
AUDIBLE STROBE APPLIANCES
SERIES AH AUDIBLES
Description
Wheelock's patented 2-wire Series AS Audible Strobe
Appliances and Series AH Audibles offer more features
with low current draw.
Strobe options for wall mount models include 1575cd or
Wheelock's patented MCW multi-candela wall strobes
with field selectable candela settings of 15/30/75/110cd,
or the high intensity MCWH strobe with field selectable
135/185cd.
Ceiling mount models incorporate Wheelock's patented
MCC multi-candela ceiling strobe with field selectable
intensities of 15/30175195cd or the high intensity MCCH
strobe with field selectable 115/1 77cd.
The audible provides a selectable choice of either a
continuous horn or temporal pattern (Code 3) when
constant voltage from a Fire Alarm Panel (FACP) is
applied. Each tone has 3 dBA settings to choose from.
When used with the Wheelock Series SM or DSM Sync
Module or Wheelock PS-12/24-8CP and PS-12/24-8MP
Power Supplies with Patented Sync Protocol,
synchronization of the continuous horn tone provides the
temporal (code 3) tone (mandated by NFPA 72)
simultaneously for all audible appliances. This ensures a
distinct temporal (code 3) pattern when 2 or more audibles
are within hearing distance. If not synchronized the
temporal sound could overlap and not be distinctive. At
the same time the strobes will be synchronized. This
provides the ability to comply with ADA guidelines
concerning photosensitive epilepsy and the NFPA
standards when installing 2 or more visual appliances
within the field of view all of this plus the ability to silence
the audible is achieved by using only 2 wire.

SERIES RSS & RSSP SINGLE
& MULTI-CANDELA STROBES
& STROBE PLATES
DESCRIPTION
Wheelock's patented Series RSS Strobe Appliances
and Series RSSP Strobe Plates have lower current draw
while maintaining outstanding performance, reliability
and cost effectiveness. These versatile appliances will
satisfy virtually all requirements for indoor, wall or ceiling
mount applications.
Strobe options for wall mount models include 1575 or
Wheelock's Patented MCW multi-candela strobe with
field selectable candela settings of 15130175/110cd or
the high intensity MCWH strobe with field selectable
135/185cd. Ceiling mount models include the patented
MCC multi-candela ceiling strobe with field selectable
intensities of 15/30/75/95cd or the high intensity MCCH
strobe with field selectable 115/177cd.
All models may be synchronized using the Wheelock SM,
DSM Sync Modules or the PS-12124-8CP and
PS-12124-8MP Power Supplies with Wheelock's
Patented Sync Protocol. Synchronized strobes can
eliminate possible restrictions on the number of strobes
in the field of view. Wheelock's synchronized strobes
offer an easy way to comply with ADA recommendations
concerning photosensitive epilepsy as well as meeting
the requirements of NFPA 72,
Wheelock's Series RSS Strobes employ a Patented
Integral Strobe Mounting Plate that can be mounted to a
single gang, double gang, 4" square, 1 00m European
backboxes or the SHBB surface backbox. If the flush
backbox has side or top space between it and the
finished wall, the NATP (Notification Appliance Trimplate)
may be used. It provides an additional .65" of trim for
the Appliance. An attractive cover plate is provided for
a clean, finished appearance on all models.
The Series RSSP Multi-Candela Strobe Plates are a cost
effective way to retrofit required wall strobe appliances to
bells, horns, chimes, multitones or speakers and easily
mounts to standard 4" backboxes or for surface mount
use with Wheelock's SBL2 surface backbox.

APA451 UL S4011 Product Overview
RA400Z UL S2522
System Sensor provides system flexibility with a variety of
accessories, including three remote test devices and several
different means of visible and audible system annunciation.
Like System Sensor's duct detectors, all duct smoke detector
accessories are UL listed.
APA451 The APA451 provides a red alarm LED, with an audible
annunciation of an alarm signal, and a green power LED. It is
intended for use in System Sensor 4-wire conventional duct smoke
detector applications without a system control panel, to comply
with NFPA 90A.
RA400Z The RA400Z remote annunciator is designed for both
conventional and intelligent applications. The red LED provides
visual indication of an alarm condition.
RTS451 and RTS451KEY The RTS451 and RTS451 KEY are
automatic fire detector accessories designed to test remotely locat-
ed duct detectors. For 4-wire detectors, the RTS45 1 KEY features
a multi-colored LED that alternates between steady green and
red. For 2-wire detectors, the LED illuminates red for alarm.
SSK451 The SSK45I multi-signaling accessory is designed for use
with System Sensor 4-wire conventional duet smoke detectors.
It combines a horn feature with the key-activated test and reset
functions. Green, amber and red LEDs provide visual indication
of power, trouble and alarm conditions, respectively.
PA400R and PA400W The PA400 models are 90dRA pulsed
sounders for applications where a smaller notification device is
required. The PS241-0 and PS24LOW add-on strobes can he
attached for visual alarm signaling.
PS24LO and PS24LOW The PS24LO and PS241..OW strobes can
be attached to the PA400 or SSK45I for visual alarm signaling.
The PSI2/24SLENS\V "SMOKE" lens is available to meet special
code requirements in certain jurisdictions.
