Charge until battery voltage (under charge) reaches 14.40 to 14.70 volts at 68°F (20°C). Hold at 14.40 to 14.70 volts until current drops to approximately 260mA. Battery is fully charged under these conditions, and charger should either be disconnected or switched to "float" voltage. "Float" or "Stand-By" Service: Hold battery across constant voltage source of 13.50 to 13.80 volts continuously. When held at this voltage, the battery will seek its own current level and maintain itself in a fully charged condition. NOTE: Due to the self-discharge characteristics of this type of battery, it is imperative that they be charged after 6-9 months of storage, otherwise permanent loss of capacity might occur as a result of sulfation. Each SD 355(1) uses one of 98 possible addresses on the MS-9200 and MS-9200UD Signaling Line Circuit (SLC), or up to 318 (159 on each loop) on The MS-9600 SLC. It re- sponds to regular polls from the system and reports its type and status The SD355(T) addressable photoelectric sensor's unique unipolar chamber responds quickly and uniformly to a broad range of smoke conditions and can withstand wind gusts up to 1,500 feet-per-minute (7.6 rn/sec.) without sending an alarm level signal. Because of its unipolar chamber, the SD355(T)is approximately two times more responsive than most photoelectric sensors. This makes it a more stable detector. May 2, 2001 DF-52176 E-600 jj FireLITe® arms www.firelite.com The new D350P and D35ORP addressable photoelectric duct smoke detectors are used exclusively with the Fire-Lite MS- 9200 and MS-9600 addressable fire alarm control panels. Since these duct detectors are addressable, they will help emergency personnel quickly locate a fire during its early stages, potentially saving precious rescue time while also reducing property damage. The D35ORP offers the same fea- tures as the D350P while adding a Form-C relay. An HVAC system supplies conditioned air to virtually every area of a building. Smoke introduced into this air duct sys- tem is thus distributed to the entire building. Smoke detec- tors for use in air duct systems sense the presence of smoke in the duct. The D350P and D35ORP air duct smoke detectors are pho- toelectric detectors, combining this detection technology with an efficient housing design that samples air passing through the duct, allowing detection of a developing hazardous con- dition. When sufficient smoke is sensed, an alarm signal is initiated at the fire control panel monitoring the detector. With the D35ORP, appropriate action can be taken to shut off fans and blowers and to change over air handling systems, etc. This can isolate toxic smoke and fire gases or prevent their distribution thoughout areas served by the duct system. Two LED's on each detector light to provide a local, visible alarm indication. A remote alarm output is provided for use with auxiliary devices. The D350P and D35ORP have remote test capability with the RTS451/RTS451 KEY Remote Test Station, as well as remote communication using the RA400Z alarm LED. APPLICATIONS Duct smoke detectors have the following limitations: NOT a substitute for open area smoke detectors. NOT a substitute for early warning detection. NOT a replacement for a building's regular fire detection system. Call your Fire-Lite distributor for a copy of System Sensor's application guide, Proper Use of Smoke Detectors in Duct Applications (A05-1004-00). INSTALLATION Wiring: For signal wiring (the wiring between detectors or from detectors to auxiliary devices), it is recommended that single conductor wire be no smaller than 18 AWG (0.75 mm2). The duct smoke detector terminals accomodate wire sizes up to 12AWG (3.25 mm2). Flexible conduit is recommended for the last foot (30.48 cm) of conduit: solid conduit connec- tions may be used if desired. Smoke detectors and alarm system control panels have speci- fications for Signaling Line Circuit (SLC) wiring. Consult the D350P/D35ORP Intelligent Addressable Photoelectronic Duct Smoke Detector Section: Addressable Devices Q. 9L <>m 'sTI RVIC 3240-0075:189 14 t 0350P control panel specifications for wiring requirements before wiring the detector loop. The D350P/D35ORP detector is de- signed for ease of wiring; the housing provides a terminal strip with clamping plates. Remote LED annunciator capability is available as an op- tion. Each duct smoke detector can only be wired to one re- mote accessory. SPECIFICATIONS D350P Operating voltage range: 15 to 32 VDC. Addressability allows the CMF to be activated, either manu- ally or through panel programming, on a select (zone or area of coverage) basis. CRF-300 Relay Module (Replaces C304 configured as a relay) The CRF-300 Addressable Relay Module provides the MS-9200 and MS-9600 systems with two isolated sets of Form-C dry-contact outputs for activating a variety of auxil- iary devices, such as fans, dampers, door holders, con- trol equipment, etc. Addressability allows the dry contact to be activated, either manually or through panel program- ming, on a select basis. FEATURES Built-in type identification automatically identifies these devices to the control panel. Internal circuitry and relay powered directly by two-wire SLC loop. The CMF module requires power (for horns, strobes, etc.). Integral LED "blinks" green each time a communication is received from the control panel and turns on in steady red when activated. High noise immunity (EMF/RFI). The CMF may be used to switch 24-volt NAC power. Wide viewing angle of LED. SEMS screws with clamping plates for wiring ease. Direct Decade 01-99 (MS-9200) and 01-159 (MS-9600) entry of address. APPLICATIONS The CMF is used to switch 24 VDC audible/visual power. The CRF may be programmed to operate dry contacts for door holders, Air Handling Unit shutdown, etc. CONSTRUCTION The face plate is made of off-white Noryl®. Controls include two rotary switches for direct-dial entry of address (01-99 on the MS-9200 and 01-159 on the MS-9600). The CMF is configured for a single Class B (Style Y) or Class A (Style Z) Notification Appliance Circuit. The CRF provides two Form-C dry contacts that switch together. Noryl® is a registered trademark of GE Plastics, a subsidiary of General Electric Company. ~W l <i Approved RVIC 7300-0075:185 I: CMF-300 and CRF-300 Module OPERATION Each CMF or CRF uses one of 99 (MS-9200) or 159 (MS- 9600) possible module addresses on a SLC loop. It re- sponds to regular polls from the control panel and reports its type and status, including the open/normal/short sta- tus of its Notification Appliance Circuit (NAC). The LED blinks with each poll received. On command, it activates its internal relay. The CMF supervises Class B (Style Y) or Class A (Style Z) notification or control circuits. Upon code command from the panel, the CMF will discon- nect the supervision and connect the external power sup- ply in the proper polarity across the load device. The dis- connection of the supervision provides a positive indica- tion to the panel that the control relay actually turned ON. The external power supply is always relay isolated from the communication loop so that a trouble condition on the external power supply will never interfere with the rest of the system. Rotary switches set a unique address for each module. The address may be set before or after mounting. The built-in TYPE CODE (not settable) will identify the module to the control panel, so as to differentiate between a mod- ule and a sensor address.
