1/19/2009 (Rev.l}
Testing was performed on an R7-54DXCW Enclosure with a door-mounted Ice Qube AC-4000 BTU air conditioner.
One 300 watt heater strip was positioned inside the test unit to provide thermal heat.

The Sound Level Meter (SLM) used for this test was an Extech 407703 in the (A) chart mode with the SLOW (average) meter reading
selected.
The audio output of the SLM was monitored using a PC based spectrum analyzer. Additionally, the frequency spectrum was noted
throughout testing and captured and various intervals.
The SLM was placed on a tripod providing 39" of elevation. In correlation to the SLM the unit under test was also elevated to a noted
height of 16' with a horizontal base line distance measured at 10'.
(It was noted, prior to testing, that several items on the cabinet were vibrating while the A/C was running. Consequently, the telco
box latch was secured : all hardware inside the cabinet was re-tightened. Both the front and rear door locking points were adjusted
for additional door closure pressure)
The table & chart below depict the dB (A) noise levels measured.
Three tests were completed: PS= Plain Shroud; HMS= Hush Mat Lined Shroud; HMPS = Hush Mat Lined Shroud with gasket sealed

1. The noise level was reduced 10.2 dB (A) to a final measurement of 48 dB (A).
2. Airflow throughput was not hindered.
