Ref Job #21-252-F November 10, 2023 Mr. Curt Gibson 4285 Hillside Drive Carlsbad, CA 92008 2450 Auto Park War Escondido, California 92029-1229 Phone {760) 743-1214 F.u {760) 739-0343 FINAL GRADING CERTIFICATION REPORT FOR RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT CORNER OF HILLSIDE DR. & PARK DR. CARLSBAD. CA. GRADING PERMIT NUMBER GR2021-0009 References: Geotechnical Investigation, proposed residential development, southwest corner of Hillside Drive and Park Drive, Carlsbad, California, V & M Job #20-178-P, report dated August 18, 2020 Grading Plans For: Gibson Family Residence, CDP 2020-0044, bha, inc. 9/26/2022. A portion of the recent plans were used to develop our included plate 1. The subject property consists of a corner lot located southwest of the intersection of Hillside Drive and Park Drive within the City of Carlsbad. The approximate site coordinates are 33."N latitude and 117. 0 W longitude. This report is provided to certify the completion of grading for the subject property, within the portion of the right of way indicated on attached Plate1 .The subject area is suitable for the support of the intended drainage course from a geotechnical standpoint. The current grading was conducted from November 2022 thru September, 2023 with intermittent observation and field density testing by representatives from our company under the supervision of the undersigned. Additional density testing was provided for information only of work observed, supervised and approved by the City Inspector Nick Deletto. The property was originally planned for the support of a single-family residential development and associated improvements. Due to unforseen circumstances the associated improvements as shown on the approved grading plan may need to be modified and completed at a later date. Consequently, this report is limited to the portions of proposed grading currently completed and partially completed areas which have been approved for fill. The City of Carlsbad has indicated that the building envelope plus 5 foot perimeter may be certified separately so that the construction of the proposed residence may begin. Import soils were required to complete the building pad. Additional laboratory testing was conducted as needed and the results confirm that import soils are substantially similar to the on site soils with respect to geotechnical properties. Therefore the foundation and soil design parameters provided in our referenced geotechnical report are still appropriate. Mr. Curt Gibson January 6, 2022 Page2 A portion of the approved Grading Plan has been reproduced and includes herein as Grading limits and compaction test location map Plate 1. The approximate limits of compacted fill and locations of field density tests are plotted thereon. Site remedial grading consisted of removal and re-compaction of near surface onsite soils and which were all placed upon approved competent bottom of removals or Tensar BX 1200 geogrid which was used over the exposed bottom of removals at west 3/4 of meandering drainage scale which lacked density or consistency. All fills placed were tested in accordance with ASTM 0-6938 Nuclear Gauge. All tested areas met 90% of the maximum dry density requirement as determined by ASTM 0-1557 Like all graded building sites, the proper control of site surface drainage is critical to overall stability of the project graded surfaces and embankments, as well as continued performance of the new developed areas. Surface water should not pond upon graded surfaces nor be allowed to flow over top of graded slopes. This report should be considered valid for a period of one year and is subject to review by our firm following that time. If significant modifications are made to your tentative reconstruction plan, especially with respect to the height and location of cut and fill slopes, this report must be presented to us for review and possible revision. Vinje & Middleton Engineering, Inc., warrants that this report has been prepared within the limits prescribed by our client with the usual thoroughness and competence of the engineering profession. No other warranty or representation, either expressed or implied, is included or intended. Should any questions arise concerning this report, please do not hesitate to contact this office.
