Subject: Election of Officers
Recommended Action
Accept nominations and adopt resolutions selecting a Chair and Vice Chair for the Historic
Preservation Commission for term ending in December 2026.
Discussion
The Chair presides at all meetings, and the Vice Chair serves in the place and stead of the Chair
in the Chair’s absence.
The Commission will vote, beginning with the first nominee, until a nominee receives a majority
of votes and a Chair and Vice Chair is selected.
Fiscal Analysis
There is no direct fiscal impact.
Environmental Evaluation (CEQA)
The proposed action is not a “project” as defined by CEQA Section 21065 and CEQA Guidelines
Section 15378(b)(5) and does not require environment review under CEQA Guidelines Section
15060(c)(3) and 15061(b)(3), because the proposed action to elect an officer is an
organizational or administrative government activity that does not involve any commitment to
any specific project which may result in a potentially significant physical impact on the
environment.

RESOLUTION NO 2025 - 008
A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING A CHAIR TO PRESIDE AT ALL
HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION MEETINGS.
WHEREAS, Carlsbad Municipal Code Section 2.15.080 requires the Commission to appoint
one of its members as Chair to preside at Commission meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE RESOLVED by the Historic Preservation Commission of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1.That the above recitations are true and correct.
2.That the following Commissioner is appointed to serve as Chair of the Commission
for a term beginning in January 2026; ending December 2026: Jamie Jacobs
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the Historic Preservation
Commission of the City of Carlsbad on the 10th of November, 2025, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Majer, Jacobs, May, Schreibman, Peterson.
NAYS: None.
ABSTAIN: None.

CHAIR’S ABSENCE.
