Executive Summary The Library & Cultural Arts Department has several well-established arts education programs for schools and the community-at-large. This presentation will provide an overview and update on experiences offered since the June 2025 meeting. Explanation & Analysis This fall Cultural Arts presented arts education programs to school-aged children including Explore More for 2nd grade and Batiquitos ArtVenture for 1st grade students in partnership with the Batiquitos Lagoon Foundation. For the first time since before the pandemic, the popular summer camp Club Pelican returned for three one-week, half-day STEAM camps. In addition to children’s programs Cultural Arts provides arts enrichment experiences for people of all ages. The musical group Jarabe Mexicano is the next guest artist residency, celebrating Dia de los Muertos with the community. Community Engagement Staff communicates with all schools within City of Carlsbad boundaries to promote educational programs, information, and resources. Staff also promotes arts enrichment experiences to the broader community using city communications channels such as social media listings, posters, and e-newsletters. Fiscal Analysis None.
