The 2019 CBC requires that a site-specific ground motion study be performed in accordance vV!th
Section 11.4,8 of ASCE 7-16 for Site Ciass D sites vvith a mapped S1 value greater than 0.2.
However, Section 11.4.8 of ASCE 7-16 also Indicates an exception to the requirement for a site-
specific ground motion hazard analysis for certain structures on D sites, The
comm e ntary for Section 11 ofASCE 7-16 (Pag e 534 of Section C11 orASCE 7-16) Indicates that
\\In general, this exception effectively limits the requirements for site-sp e cific hazard analysis to
