Recommended Action
Adopt a resolution approving the 2026 Environmental Sustainability Commission Regular
Meeting Calendar.
Executive Summary/Discussion
Staff requests the Commission to approve the 2026 schedule for regular Environmental
Sustainability Commission meetings.
The Commission establishes its regular meeting schedule annually by resolution. Adopting the
calendar by resolution meets the requirements of the Brown Act, the state’s open meeting law
(California Government Code Section 54954), and provides the Commission with the
opportunity to notify the public of its scheduled regular meetings.
Special meetings can still be called as needed by providing 24-hour notice before the time of
the special meeting.
All regular meetings will be scheduled to take place on the first Thursday of even-numbered
months at 3 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall at 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive.
Fiscal Analysis
There are no significant fiscal impacts that would result from adoption of the attached
resolution.
Next Steps
Staff will distribute the approved calendar to the Commission and other city staff. In addition,
the calendar will be posted on the city’s website.

Environmental Evaluation
The proposed action to approve the 2026 Environmental Sustainability Commission Regular
Meeting calendar is exempt from environmental review under CEQA Guidelines Section
15061(b)(3) and 15378(b)(5) as it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility the
proposed action may have a significant effect on the environment.

A RESOLUTION OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY COMMISSIONOF
THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE 2026
ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING
CALENDAR
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that all Board, Commissions and Committees will
establish its scheduled regular meetings annually by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the Ralph M. Brown Act, specifically California Government Code Section 54954(a),
provides for the establishment of an annual regular meeting calendar procedure; and
WHEREAS, Carlsbad Municipal Code Section 2.15.020(G) requires the Commission to meet in
accordance with its approved regular meeting schedule; and
WHEREAS, all regular meetings will be scheduled to take place on the first Thursday of even
numbered months at 3 p.m. in the Council Chamber located at 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive; and
WHEREAS, special meetings of the Environmental Sustainability Commission will be called as
necessary following the requirements of the Brown Act, specifically California Government Code
Section 54956.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Environmental Sustainability Commission of the City
of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. The proposed action to approve the 2026 Environmental SustainabilityCommission Regular
Meeting calendar is exempt from environmental review under CEQA Guidelines Section
15061(b)(3) and 15378(b)(5) as it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility the
proposed action may have a significant effect on the environment.
3. That the regular meeting schedule in Attachment A is approved.
4. That the 2026 Environmental Sustainability Commission Regular Meeting Calendar will be
posted to the city’s website.
5. That all regular meetings will be scheduled to take place on the first Thursday of even
numbered months at 3 p.m. in the Council Chamber located at 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the Environmental Sustainability
Commission of the City of Carlsbad on the th day of December, 2025, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Norall, Ferguson, Corrigan, Rothman, Evans, Nowakowski.
NAYS: None.
ABSTAIN: None.
ABSENT: Woolsey.
