APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Minutes of the regular meeting held Oct. 22, 2025 Council Chamber 1200 Carlsbad Vi llage Drive Carlsbad, CA 92008 Motion by Trustee Laufer, seconded by Trustee Waidelich, to approve the minutes as presented. Motion carried, 4/0/1 (Sheffler -Absent} PRESENTATIONS: None. PUBLIC COMMENT: None. CONSENT CALENDAR: None. PUBLIC HEARING: None. DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS: Prior to Departmental Reports, Deputy Library Director Sheila Crosby introduced new personnel to the board. 1. LIBRARY REPORTS FOR OCTOBER 2025: Receive the Narrative Report and Statistical Report for October 2025. (Staff contact: Andrea Hilliard and Laura Stanger, Library & Cultural Arts Department} Recommended Action: Receive the reports. The Board received the reports. 2. LIBRARY TECHNOLOGY REPORT: Receive the Library Technology Report. (Staff contact: Andrea Hilliard, Library & Cultural Arts Department} Recommended Action: Receive the report. The Board received the report. Principal Librarian Andrea Hilliard shared a Power Point presentation (on file in the Office of the City Clerk). Dec. 10, 2025 Library Board of Trustees Regular Meeting Page 2 Chair Moran inquired about the Net Promoter Score project and whether staff had considered offering in-library options for patrons to provide feedback, such as using an iPad. Principal Librarian Andrea Hilliard responded that is an option and added that the link could also be included in other areas, such as study room reservations and email communications. 3. TRAINING SERVICES: Receive a report on Training Services for the Library & Cultural Arts Department. (Staff contact: Hannah Nelson, Library & Cultural Arts Department) Recommended Action: Receive the report. The Board received the report. Training Coordinator Hannah Nelson shared a Power Point presentation (on file in the Office of the City Clerk). Trustee Waidelich inquired about whether there is collaboration among city departments in regard to training. Hannah Nelson responded there is ongoing collaboration with other departments, such as Housing and Homeless Services, to provide training opportunities to staff. 4. PARTNERSHIPS & OUTREACH STRATEGIC ROADMAP: Receive a report on the updated Partnerships & Outreach Strategic Roadmap for the Carlsbad City Library for fiscal years 2025- 2027. (Staff contact: Laura Stanger, Library & Cultural Arts Department) Recommended Action: Receive the report. The Board received the report. Principal Librarian Laura Stanger shared a Power Point presentation (on file in the Office of the City Clerk). BOARD COMMENTARY AND REQUESTS FOR CONSIDERATION OF MATTERS: The Board Members reported on activities they attended.
