Dear Mr. Wermers:
As requested, GeoTek, Inc. (GeoTek) has completed a geotechnical review of the referenced
precise grading construction plans. The plans were reviewed on November 30, 2022. Since then,
the plans were revised as Delta A (4, 5 15, 19A, 20A, 23) to incorporate an underground
detention pipe system designed by Contech Engineered Solutions, LLC to replace the precast
concrete underground vault designed by StormTrap.
The underground pipe system is a corrugated metal pipe (CMP) that is polymer coated. The
polymer coating is designed for pH environments ranging from 3 to 11 and minimum resistivity
of 250 ohm-cm or greater with an unlimited maximum resistivity limit. Table 1 summarizes the
design environment provided by the manufacturer.

Preliminary corrosion test results indicate that site soils exhibit minimum resistivity (938 ohm-
cm)and pH values (8.0 – 8.5) within the range of the polymer coated CMP design. Laboratory
test results are presented in Appendix A. Confirmation corrosion testing of the material to be
backfilled around the CMP should be performed prior to placement of backfill to confirm the
corrosion environment is within the design environment of the CMP design.
Based on this review, it is GeoTek’s opinion that the provided and reviewed plans have been
prepared utilizing the soil engineering design parameters and recommendations provided in the
referenced reports as well as the Corrugated Metal Pipe Design Guide prepared by Contech
Engineered Solutions. These plans are considered to be geotechnically suitable. GeoTek makes
no representation as to the accuracy of dimensions, calculations, or structural/civil design
provided on the referenced plans.
