A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING SETTLEMENT OF THE WORKERS’ COMPENSATION CLAIM OF JOHN MAUD WHEREAS, AdminSure Inc., the city’s third-party administrator, has recommended a settlement of the Workers’ Compensation claim of John Maud; and WHEREAS, all parties have agreed to settle the claim before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows: 1.That the above recitations are true and correct. 2.That this action is not a “project” as defined by California Environmental Quality Act, or CEQA, Section 21065 and CEQA Guidelines Section 15378(b)(4) and does not require environmental review under CEQA Guidelines Section 15060(c)(3) as it is a government fiscal activity and does not involve any commitment to any specific project which may result in a potentially significant physical impact on the environment. 3.That the expenditure of $72,500 from the Workers’ Compensation Self-Insurance Fund is authorized for the settlement of this claim. 4.That the City Council approves the request for settlement authority on file in the Human Resources Department.
