SENIOR COMMISSION
CALL TO ORDER: 3:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL: Rangus, Schouwe, Ross, Dillon.
Absent: Fitz-Patrick
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Chair Rangus led the Pledge of Allegiance.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Minutes of the Regular Meeting held on June 26, 2025.
Motion by Commissioner Ross, second by Commissioner Dillon, to approve the Minutes as
presented. Motion carried, 4/1. (Fitz-Patrick – Absent)
PRESENTATIONS: None.
PUBLIC COMMENT: Barbara Segal discussed the fruit options available at the Senior Center for
individuals with dental issues, recommending applesauce and Jell-O as suitable alternatives.
CONSENT CALENDAR: None.
PUBLIC HEARING: None.
DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS:
1. DEPARTMENT REPORT ON SENIOR ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS – Receive a report on
recently completed and upcoming Adults 50+ activities and programs, as well as other
topics of interest. (Staff Contact: Eric Biggin, Parks & Recreation Department)
Recommendation: Receive the report.
Recreation Area Manager Eric Biggin and Recreation Supervisor II Andi Koller presented a
PowerPoint presentation (on file in the Office of the City Clerk) on recently completed and
upcoming Senior Center activities and programs, as well as other topics of interest.
The Commission received the report.
COMMISSION COMMENTARY AND REQUESTS FOR CONSIDERATION OF MATTERS:
Chair Rangus commended the Senior Center staff for offering a wide range of programs, activities
and services.

STAFF COMMENTS:
Recreation Services Manager Benson thanked the Commission for their service and reminded
them about the next regular meeting scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025.
