LI Design Data The Model ELO-231 Extra Large Orifice Sprinkler is Listed for standard sprinkler placement and standard flow and pressure requirements as specified in NFPA 13,231, 231C, 231D and 231F. The ELO-231 is not Listed for use as a "large drop" sprinkler nor as an "ESFR" sprinkler. The following parameters must be incorporated into the design of automatic sprinkler systems utilizing Model ELO-231 Sprinklers for NFPA applications: Minimum sprinkler spacing is 6 feet (1.8 m). Maximum coverage area is 130 sq. ft. (12.1 m) for densities below .25 gpm/sq. ft.(10.2 Lpm/rn2) in NFPA 13, 231 and 231C applications. The Maximum coverage area is 100 sq. ft (9.3 m2) for NFPA 13, 231 and 231C applications with densities of .25 gpm/sq. ft. (10.2 Lpm/m-')afld above. Automatic sprinkler systems must be hydraulically calculated using the area/density curves of NFPA Standards. Minimum sprinkler discharge pressure is 10 psi(0.7 bar) (36 gpm(136.4 Lpm) for NFPA 231, 231C, 231D and 231F applications and 7 psi(0.5 bar) for NFPA 13 applications. Factory Mutual's Loss Prevention Data Sheets contain requirements that differ from NFPA. Product Description The ELO-231 is UL and ULC Listed as a %"(16.3 mm) ELO Standard Spray sprinkler as referenced by NFPA 13. Also, the ELO-231 is a standard spray storage occupancy sprinkler as refer- enced by NFPA 231, 231C, 231D and 231F. Factory Mutual's Approval of the ELO-231 is for all area/density methods of design. This is not limited to 231, 231C and 231D type occupancies. (See Factory Mutual's Loss Prevention Data Sheets for details.) The Model ELO-231 Sprinkler incorpo- rates the "center-strut" actuating assem- bly or a glass bulb heat responsive element. Center Strut Operation: A fusible alloy is sealed into a bronze center strut by a stainless steel ball. When the alloy melts at its rated temperature, the ball is forced upward into the center strut, releasing the two ejectors and operating the sprinkler. Unlike most other sprinkler designs, the alloy is not exposed to atmospheric conditions that could affect its proper functioning. It is also less susceptible to mechanical damage since there are no protruding elements, extending beyond the sprinkler frame. Glass Bulb Operation: The Model ELO- 231 GB now incorporates the latest in heat responsive glass bulb technology. The operating mechanism consists of a liquid-filled 5mm diameter frangible capsule that is only 20 mm in length. Thr glass bulb capsule operating mechanism contains a heat sensitive liquid that expands upon application of heat. At the rated temperature, the frangible capsule ruptures thereby releasing the orifice sea thus operating the sprinkler. stat lot All Central Model ELO-231 sprinklers must be installed according to current NFPA Standards. Deviations from these requirements and standards or any alteration to the sprinkler itself will void any warranty made by Central Sprinkler Company. In addition, installation must also meet local government provisions, codes, and standards as applicable. The system piping must be properly sized to insure the minimum required flov. rate at the sprinkler. Check for the prope model, style, orifice size, and temperaturE rating prior to installation. Install sprin- klers after the piping is in place to avoid mechanical damage; replace any damaged units. Wet pipe systems must be protected from freezing. Upon completion of the installation, the system must be tested per recognized standards. In the event of a thread leak, remove the unit, apply new pipe joint compound or tape, and reinstall. Installation Sequence Step 1. The unit must be installed in the upright or pendent position. Step 2. Use only a non-hardening pipe joint compound or Teflon tape. Apply only to the male threads. 'Teflon is a trademark of the DuPont Corp. Step 3. Hand tighten the sprinkler into the fitting. Use a Central ELO/ESLO/ ESFR Combination Sprinkler Wrench, to tighten the unit into the fitting. A leak-tig1 joint requires only 7 to 14 ft-lbs. of torque(9.5 to 19.0 Nm); a tangential force c 14 to 28 lbs.(62.3 to 124.5 N) delivered through a 6(150 mm) handle will deliver adequate torque. Torque levels over 21 ft.-lbs.(28.6Nm) may distort the orifice seal, resulting in leakage. The upright sprinkler shall, per NFPA, be oriented so the frame arms are paralle with the branch line pipe. ELO/ESLO/ESFR Combination Sprinklers must be handled carefully. They should not be transported or stored where ambient temperature may exceed 100°F/380C. For best results, store them in a dry, cool location in the original shipping package. Do not install sprinklers that have been dropped or visibly damaged. Sprinklers should never be painted, coated, plated, or altered in any other way from manufac- tured condition or they may not function properly. Any sprinklers altered in such manner must be replaced. The owner is responsible for the proper operating condition of all fire protection devices and accessories. The NFPA Standard 25 entitled,"Inspection Testing and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems' contains guidelines and minimum maintenance requirements. Furthermore, the local Authority Ha ving - Jurisdiction may have additional regula- tions and requirements for maintenance, testing, and inspection that must be obeyed. It is advisable to have sprinkler systems inspected regularly by a qualified inspec- tion service. Length of time between such inspections can vary due to accessi- bility, ambient atmosphere, water supply, and site activity. Do not attempt to reassemble or otherwise reuse a sprinkler that has operated. Replace any sprinkler exhibit- ing corrosion or damage; always use new sprinklers of the same type and tempera- ture rating as replacements. 01998 Central Sprinkler Company Printed in U.S.A. Because the discharge pattern is critical to protection of life and property, nothing should be hung or attached to the sprinkler unit that would disrupt the pattern. Such obstructions must be romovPd. in the event that construction has altered the original configuration, additional sprinklers should be installed to maintain the protection level. Do not attempt to replace sprinklers without first removing the fire protection system from service. Be certain to secure permission from all Authorities Having Jurisdiction, and notify all personnel who may be affected during system shutdown. Afire watch during maintenance periods is a recommended precaution. To remove the system from service mode, first refer to the system operating guide and valve instruction. Drain the water and relieve pressure in the pipes. Remove the existing unit and install the replacement, using only the special sprinkler wrench. Be certain to match model, style, orifice, and temperature rating. A fire protection system that has been shut off after an activation should be returned to service immediately. inspect the entire system for damage and replace or repair as necessary. Sprinklers that did not operate but were subjected to corrosive elements of combustion or excessive temperatures should be inspected, and replaced if need be. The Authority Having Jurisdiction will detail minimum replacement requirements and regulations. Figure A) are automatic sprinklers of the frangi- ble bulb type. They are standard re- sponse - standard orifice spray sprink- lers" intended for use in fire sprinkler systems designed in accordance with the standard installation rules recog-nized by the applicable Listing or Ap- proval agency (e.g., UL Listing is based on NFPA 13 requirements). The Pendent, Recessed Pendent, and Up- right Sprinklers all produce a hemi- spherical water distribution pattern below the deflector. The recessed versions of the Model A Sprinkler are obtained by utilizing the Model A Pendent Sprinkler in combi- nation with the Model F700 Recessed Escutcheon (Ref. Figures A and C). The F700 Recessed Escutcheon pro- vides 1/2 inch (12,7mm) of recessed adjustment or up to 3/4 inch (19,1 mm) of adjustment from the flush pendent position. The F700 has a separable two-piece design which allows installation of the sprinklers and pressure testing of the fire protection system, prior to ceiling construction and/or application of a fin- ish coat to the ceiling. They also permit refinishing of a ceiling surface without having to first shut down the fire pro- tection system and remove the sprink- lers. The adjustment provided by the F700 substantially reduces the accuracy to which the length of fixed pipe drops to the sprinklers must be cut. Also, the Closure1as a 1/2 inch (12,7mm) wide flange which provides ample clear- ance for covering the mounting hole. Laboratory listings and approvals for the 1/2 inch (15mm) orifice Model A Pendent, Recessed Pendent, and Up- right Sprinklers are given in Table A. The nominal discharge curve plotted in Figure B represents the flow in GPM (LPM) as determined by the fol-. lowing formula: 0 = where the nominal discharge coeffi- cient "K equals 5.6 (80,7); and, p" equals the residual flowing pressure in psi (bar). Listing standards permit the actual value of "K to vary from 5.3 to 5.8 (76.4 to 83,6); however, for hydrau- lic calculations, a K-factor of 5.6 (80,7) is to be applied. The Frame of the Model A Sprinkler (Ref. Figure A), is bronze per ASTM 8176 (C87800) or, a proprietary alloy designated as QM. The Button (bulb retainer) is phospher bronze per ASTM 8103 (C51000 orC52100). The Gasketed Spring Plate consists of a Berylium Nickel (N03360) disc spring that is sealed on both its inside and outside faces with a Teflon gasket. The Compression Screw is bronze per ASTM B140 (C31400) and the Deflec- tor is brass per ASTM B152 (Cl 1000). The Model A Sprinklers utilize a 5mm diameter frangible bulb. Table A indi- cates the bulb liquid color as a function of temperature rating. The F700 Recessed Escutcheon pro- vided for use with the Model A Pendent Sprinkler (Ref. Figure C) has a Closure and Mounting Plate fabricated from low carbon steel. The Mounting Plate prongs, which are compressed back into the Mounting Plate as the Closure is pushed over it, maintain a tight fric- lion fit between the two pieces. The Mounting Plate and Closure can, also swivel relative to each other and com- pensate for minor non-perpendicular- ity between the Model A Sprinkler and the ceiling. NOTES Do not install any bulb type sprinkler if the bulb is cracked or there is a loss of liquid from the bulb. With the sprinkler held horizontal, a small air bubble should be present. The diame- ter of the air bubble is approximately 1/16 inch (1,6mm) for the 135T/57t'to3/32 inch (2,4mm) for the 360T/182'C rating. (At higher ambient temperatures, the bubble may be barely perceptable for the lower temperature ratings.) After installing the F700 Mounting Plate (or other escutcheon, as appli- cable) over the sprinkler threads, apply pipe thread sealant sparingly to the sprinkler threads only. Use of a Teflont based pipe thread sealant is recommended. Hand tighten the sprinkler into the sprinkler fitting. Refer to Figure D and select the appropriate Sprinkler Wrench for tightening the sprinkler into the sprinkler fitting. The F850 Sprinkler Wrench must be used for installing polyester coated sprinklers, in order to prevent dam- age to the sprinkler finish. NOTES A leak tight 112 inch NPT sprink- lerjoint should be obtained With a torque of 7 to 14 fl.lbs. (9,5 to 19,0 Nm). A maximum of 21 ft. lbs. (28,5Nrn) of torque is to be used to install the sprinklers. Higher lev- els of torque may distort the sprinkler inlet with consequent leakage or impairment of the sprinkler Do not attempt to make-up for in- sufficient adjustment in the es- cutcheon plate by under- or over- tightening the sprinkler. Readjust the position of the sprinkler fitting to suit. In recessed pendent sprinkler instal- lations, after the ceiling has been installed or the finish coat has been applied, slide on the P700 Closure over the Model A Sprinkler and push the Closure over the Mounting Plate until its flange comes in contact with the ceiling. Automatic sprinklers must never be shipped or stored where their temper- atures will exceed 100'F138'C and they must never be painted, plated, coated or otherwise altered after leav- ing the factory. Modified sprinklers must be replaced. Sprinklers that have been exposed to corrosive products of combustion, but have not operated, should be replaced if they cannot be completely cleaned by wiping the sprinkler with a cloth or by brushing it with a soft bristle brush. Care must be exercised to avoid dam- age to the sprinklers - both before and after installation. Sprinklers dam- aged by dropping, striking, wrench twist/slippage, or the like, must be re- placed. Also, replace any sprinkler that has a cracked bulb or that has lost liquid from its bulb (ref. Installation Section Note). NOTES Absence of an escutcheon, which is used to cover a clearance hole, may delay the time to sprinkler operation in a fire situation. Before closing afire protection system control valve for maintenance work on the fire protection system which it con- trols, permission to shut down the af- fected fire protection system must be obtained from the proper authorities and all personnel who may be affected by this action must be notified. It is recommended that automatic sprinkler systems be inspected quar- terly by a qualified Inspection Service. Model F850 Nylon Coated Sprinkler Wrench 'I / p..- - LL. Figure A) are designed for use with wet pipe automatic sprinkler -1/2 PIPE systems. They utilize a vane-type sen- DIA. sor to actuate two single pole double COVER SCREW PLUS KEY WRENCH— throw snap-action switches when 4-5/8" water flows at a sustained rate of 10 (117 mm*) GPM or more. The flow may be caused by the discharge from a sprinkler, COVER opening of an Inspector's Test Con- nection, or by other factors such as ac- cidental mechanical damage resulting in rupture of a fitting or the piping. The VSR-F Waterflow Detectors are generally used in conjunction with riser check valves to actuate electrical alarms and/or operate electrical equip- ment (such as fire pumps) in automatic sprinkler systems. They are also com- monly used where sectional waterfiow signals are required. The switching components are enclosed in a NEMA Type 1 general purpose-indoor rated housing. Tamper resistant screws, which require a spe- cial key wrench for removal, are used to secure the Cover, and a field in- stalled cover tamper switch may be in- stalled to indicate unauthorized removal of the cover. Each of the two SPDT switches may be wired for either normally open or normally closed contact operation. A built-in pneumatic retard assembly (with automatic reset), delays actua- tion of the electrical switches to reduce the possibility of false alarms caused by either a single or series of transient flow surges. The time delay is adjus- table from 0 to nominally 75 (60 to 90) seconds. APPROVALS AND STANDARDS The Model VSR-F Waterflow Detec- tors are listed by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. and Underwriters Laboratories of Canada. V f4"111 V111 Y 1._s The Model VSR-F Waterflow Detec- tors must be installed and main- tained in compliance with this docu- ment, as well as with the applicable standards of the National Fire Protec- tion Association, in addition to the standards of any other authorities having jurisdiction. Failure to do so may impair the proper operation or integrity of these devices. The owner is responsible for main- taining their fire protection system and devices in proper operating con- dition. The installing contractor or manufacturer should be contacted relative to any questions. The VSR-F Waterflow Detectors must not be used in dry pipe, deluge, or preaction systems. The Vane may be broken away or the mechanism damaged by the sudden inrush of water when the control value opens. A pressure switch should be used with these types of systems. The VSR-F Waterflow Detectors must not be used where potentially ex- plosive atmospheres are present. TECHNICAL DATA The 2 through 8 inch Model VSR-F Waterflow Detectors are for use in wet pipe automatic sprinkler systems and for installation in Schedule 10 through 40 steel pipe. They are rated for use at a maximum service pressure of 450 psi and may be used over an environ- mental temperature range of 40/4C to 12oF/4gC: Field wiring is through a 1/2 inch con- duit opening in the Base to No. 6 screw terminals on two Switches. The Switches are SPDT snap-action and are enclosed in a NEMA Type 1 enclosure (i.e., general purpose in- door) and the Form C contacts are rated as follows: 125/250 VAC ......10.00 Amps 0 - 30 VDC ........2.00 Amps The VSR-F has a die cast aluminum Saddle with a buna-n, NBR, or nitrite Saddle 0-Ring. A flexible poly- propylene Vane is pinned to a stain- less steel Trip Stem. The Trip Stem pivots on a stainless steel Pivot Pin that is captured between the Saddle and the aluminum Base along with a silicone Trip Stem Seal and stainless steel Washer. The Trip Stem extends to the polycarbonate Pnuematic Retard Assembly and two SPDT Switches that are housed within an aluminum Cover. The U-Bolt, plated steel. OPERATION Water flowing at a sustained rate of 10 GPM or more will deflect the Vane suf- ficiently to allow the Trip Stem to release the Pneumatic Retard Assem- bly. As the flow increases above 10 GPM, the Vane flexes towards the in- ternal contour of the pipe. Releasing the Pneumatic Retard As- sembly permits the Switch Actuator to move away from the Switch levers, and when the preset time delay has elapsed, the Switch Actuator will have moved .far enough to allow the Switches to actuate. The Switches remain in the actuated position while water continues to flow. After the waterflow has stopped, the Vane and Switch Actuator are automatically returned to their normal (set) position by the Reset Spring, which in turn resets the Switches. The automatic reset feature reduces the possibility of a false alarm by diminishing the cumulative effect of a series of flow surges. The Pneumatic Retard Assembly is factory set at es- sentially a zero time delay. It may be field adjusted from 0 up to nominally 75 (60 to 90) seconds, if required, to suit individual installation requirements. INSTALLATION The 2 through 8 inch. Model VSR-F Waterflow Detectors are for installa- tion in Schedule 10' through 40 steel pipe. The VSR-F Waterflow Detectors can be mounted in vertical or horizontal piping. In vertical pipe runs, they must only be used for detecting upward flow. In horizontal pipe runs, they must only be mounted on top of the pipe. The Detectors should be located with at least 18 inches clearance around the sides and they must have at least 4 inches of clearance above the Cover for inspection and maintenance. The units should be located further than 6 inches from a fitting which changes the direction of water-flow and at least 24 inches from a gate or drain valve. An Inspector's Test Connection, which is sized in accordance with the require- ments of the authority having jurisdic- tion, must be located downstream of the waterfiow detector, for periodic testing of the detector and its as- sociated alarms. If the Detector is to be installed in a sprinkler system which is already in service, permission to shut down the affected fire protection system must first be obtained from the proper authorities, and all personnel who may be affected by this action must be notified. Proceed as follows: Drain the piping if the Water-flow Detector is to be installed in a sys- tem which is already in service. Verify that the drainage water is being properly disposed of and that it will not cause damage or result in dangerous conditions. Locate the center of the Detector Mounting Hole per the previously given criteria. Saw a hole of the size specified in Figure A, through the wall of the pipe, and then remove the cut-out. The centerline of the hole must be perperpendicular to the sur- face of the pipe, so that the installed detector will not be tilted. Tilting could cause the Vane to scrape the pipe wall and adversely affect detec- tor sensitivity. It is recommended that the removed cut-out be temporarily fastened to the pipe near the Waterflow Detec- tor, so that there is ready visual verification of the cut-out removal. Remove all, burrs from around the outside edge of the drilled hole. The outside pipe surface within 1/4 inch of the hole edge must be cleaned of scale and projections as well as be free of indentations which could af- fect proper tearing of the Saddle 0- Ring. - Clean out interior pipe scale for one pipe diameter on both sides of the Mounting Hole to ensure free move- ment of the Vane during both foward and reverse flow. Roll the Paddle against the direction of flow, as indicated in Figure A, but only as tightly as is necessary to in- sert it through the Mounting Hole. Do not bend or crease the Vane. Insert the rolled Vane into the Mount- ing Hole after ensuring that the Sad- dle 0-Ring is positioned correctly and the flow arrow on the Saddle is pointing in the direction of flow. Posi- tion the Saddle so that it sits square- lyon the pipe and so that the Saddle 0-Ring will seat all around. Install the U-bolt. Tighten the nuts al- '0.134 inch nominal watt thickness for 6 inch size pipe and 0.180 Inch nominal watt thickness for 8 inch size pipe 0 00.1GO' FIGURE B FIELD CONNECTION OF TWO WIRES TO TERMINAL SCREW ternate'yto a torque of approximate- ly 50 ftibs. Remove the Cover with the Key Wrench and gently move the Trip Stem its full travel (back and forth) to check that the Vane moves freely. If any binding is felt, check to see that the Detector is perpendicular to the pipe surface. If binding persists, check for removal of scale on the pipe interior and for proper pipe size Waterflow Detector. Wire the Waterflow Detector in ac- cordance with the requirements of the authority having jurisdiction and/or the National Electrical Code. With reference to Figure B, an unin- sulated section of a single conductor is not permitted to be looped around a terminal screw and serve as two separate connections. The wire must be severed to serve as two separate connections, thereby providing supervision of the connec- tion in the event that a wire becomes dislodged. Slowly fill the sprinkler system and check for leaks. Set the time delay. Setting B with a time de'ay of nominal 30 (20 to 40) seconds is recommended. NOTE It is recommended that the time delay not be set at longer than nominally 30 seconds (Setting B), at this time, since this may un- necessarily increase the time for alarm. The Retard Device should only be adjusted after the sprinkler system has been placed in service and experience shows that an increased delay is re- quired because of the severity of flow surges. Increase the delay time only to the minimum re- quired value. Open the Inspector's Test Connec- tion to verify proper operation of the Detector and its associated alarms. The time delay should correspond approximately to the field setting and the electrical functions should con- tinue until the Inspector's Test Con- nection is closed. Air pockets within the sprinkler system may increase the time delay to alarm. Cover Screws, using the Key Wrench. Store the Key Wrench in a secure area. 14 If, after the sprinkler system has been placed in service, it becomes necessary to increase the retard time due to excessive flow, remove the Cover and adjust the Retard Dial. Increase the-delay time to the minimum required value. Replace the Cover and store the Key Wrench in a secure area. CARE AND MAINTENANCE The Model VSR-F Waterflow Detec- tors do no require any regularly scheduled maintenance. It is recom- mended, however, that proper opera- tion of the alarms be verified in accord- ance with the following described inspection procedure. Any impairment must be immediately corrected. NOTES Before testing alarms or removing a Cover from a Detector with a Cover Tamper Switch, notification must be given to the owner and the fire department, central station, or other signal station to which the alarms are connected. If Vane is separated from its Ac- tuator Lever, it must be located and removed. Failure to do so may im- pair the proper flow of water to a portion of the sprinkler system. attempt is to be made to replace o, repair any VSR-F Waterflow Detector component in the field. Refer to the WARRA.NTYstatement and Price List for instructions con- cerning repair or replacement. 4. Before closing a fire protection sys- tem control valve to replace a VSR-F Waterflow Detector, permis - sion to shut down the affected fire protection system must first be ob- tained from the proper authorities and all personnel who may be af- fected by this decision must be notified. Inspection Procedure Operationally test the Waterflow Detector at least quarterly but preferably monthly, to verify that the time delay to alarm has not decreased or increased. The Waterflow Detector must be tested by opening the Inspector's Test Con- nection. 2. Inspect for external leakage past the pressure seals (i.e., Trip Stem Seal and Saddle 0-ring) at least annual- ly. Alarm Does Not Operate 1. Verify proper wiring. Remove the Cover and observe the Actuator Lever before and while the Inspector's Test Connection is opened. The Switch Actuator should move away from the Switch levers; if not, follow the waterflow detector replacement procedure to assure that the Vane is attached to the Detector and the pipe is free of scale. Decrease in Time Delay If the time delay to alarm has decreased below the desired range, which may occur due to wear of the Pneumatic Retard Device after ex- tended use, then increase the retard setting. To increase the retard setting, remove the Cover and adjust the Retard Adjustment Dial. Increase the delay time only to .the minimum re- quired value. Replace the Cover. Increase in Time Delay If the time delay to alarm has in- creased above the desired range, first check for Vane binding. Remove the Cover and gently move the Trip Stem its full travel (back and forth) to check that the Vane moves freely. If any binding is felt check to see that the Detector is perpendicular to the pipe surface. If binding persists: Verify that the appropriate size waterflow detector is being used. Remove the waterflow detector by following the waterflow detec- tor replacement procedure and verify that the interior of the pipe is clean per instruction No. 4 of the Installation section. 2. If the time delay has increased above the desired range and the Vane is found not to be binding, then reduce the retard setting. To reduce the retard setting, adjust the Retard Adjustment Dial to the minimum re- quired value. Replace the Cover. Waterflow Detector Replacement Procedure 1. Review and follow the instructions given in the NOTES at the begin- fling of this Care and Maintenance section. Close the Main Control Valve and drain the appropriate portion of the system. Disconnect the eTectrical power and then disconnect the wiring to the waterflow detector. Loosen both nuts and remove the U bolt. Gently lift the Saddle off the pipe until your fingers can be slipped between the undereside of the Saddle and the pipe surface Using the thumb and index finger, start to curl the Vane as shown in- Figure A. Gradually lift the Detector off the pipe while applying more curl to the Vane, in order to ease removal. Replace the Detector by following Steps 4 through 14 in the Installation section. There is no flow THROUGH the valve. There is flow from the inlet into the Relief Valve providing pressure relief to the system as required under Paragraph 5-1.3 of NFPA 13. The Valve in the "TEST" position as shown in Figure "B' allows flow from the inlet through the orifice in the ball providing a testing facility as required in Paragraph 3-4.1 .1 of the NFPA specifications. Figure "C" indicates the valve in .the "REPAIR" position. This procedure requires the removal of the valve handle and returning it to the valve stem in an inverted position then rotating the ball 90 degrees counter clockwise beyond the test position. In so doing, the Relief Valve is isoloated for service without the necessity to drain the entire system. If repair is necessary, it is recommended the system be shut down at the control valve and system pressure be removed through the 'TEST' mode of the Inspectors Test Station Valve Assembly. AGF MFG. These valves are designed for general service where tight shut off and frequent use are desired. They are especially recommended for use with steam, air, oil, water and gas service, where non-metallic discs are suited. A swivel disc holder permits disc to wear evenly and provide a tight seal under full load conditions. They are constructed so that they can be repacked with the valve in the fully opened position, while under full pressure. These valves feature easily replaceable non-metallic discs, non-asbestos packing, and heavy duty rugged construction. A choice of discs is available to make these valves suitable for most applications. 125S & 126S Listed for fire sprinkler service. 2" size only.
