The control module also has the ability to synchronize multiple horn signals with a Code 3 temporal pattern. For the horn to operate correctly, it must produce a continuous tone when powered from a continuous source of rated supply without the control mod- ule. By incorporating the control module as shown in the wiring diagrams (page 2), the control module will control the power to the horns to produce the synchronized tem- poral pattern. When using the Z-Series strobe lights, synchronization may also be attained without the use of a control module if the fire alarm control panel is capable of providing pulsed power with a minimum power-off time of 10 mS and a maximum power-off time of 50 mS and with a repetition rate of 1 sec- ond. FEATURES Synchronize Code 3 temporal pattern. Operates Gentex Horn and Horn/Strobe Series that gen- erate a continuous tone: GXS, GX90IGX90S, and GMH/ GMS. Also operates the HG/SHG Series manufactured before 2/16/98. Use AVS44 with the GOS/GOT Series. Easy to install. Module is rated for 3 Amps at 24 VDC. Synchronizes to 1 Hz flash rate. The FCPS-24F(E) may be connected to any 12- or 24-volt Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) or may stand alone. Primary applications include Notification Appliance (bell) Circuit (NAC) expansion (to support ADA requirements) or auxil- iary power to support 24-volt system accessories. The FCPS provides regulated and filtered 24 VDC power to four Notification Appliance Circuits (two Class A [Style Z] and two Class B [Style Y] or four Class B only). Alternately, the four outputs may be configured as any combination of re- settable/non-resettable power outputs (optimal for power- ing four-wire smoke detectors). The FCPS-24F(E) also con- tains a battery charger capable of charging up to 7.0 Amp Hour batteries. FEATURES Requires input trigger voltage of 9.0 - 32 VDC. Contains two, fully-isolated input/control circuits (trig- gered from FACP Notification Appliance Circuit [NAC expander mode] or jumpered permanently on [stand- alone mode]). Two Class A (Style Z) or Class B (Style Y) Notification Appliance Circuits (circuits 1 & 3). Two additional NACs that may be individually configured for Class B (Style Y) operation only (circuits 2 & 4). 6 Amp full load output (3 amps maxickt.) in NAC ex- pander mode (UL 864). 4 Amp continuous output in stand-alone mode (UL 1481). In stand-alone mode, output power circuits may be con- figured as resettable (reset line from FACP required) or non-resettable. Fully regulated and filtered power output (optimal for powering four-wire smoke detectors, annunciators and other system peripherals requiring regulated/filtered power). Fuseless, power-limited technology meets new UL power- limiting requirements, effective May 1, 1995. Normally closed trouble contact. FIELD-PROGRAMMING FEATURES Off-Line Programming: Create entire program in your office using a Windows®-based PC computer (order pro- gramming kit PK-9200W separately). Upload/Download sys- tem programming locally to the MS-9200 in less than one minute. Auto-Programming: Command the MS-9200 to pro- gram itself (takes less than 30 seconds). In the Auto- Program mode, the MS-9200 scans for all possible devices at all addresses, stores the device types, and addresses found, and then loads default values for all options (General Alarm). It also checks for two or more devices set to the same address. On-Line Edit: While still providing fire protection, the MS- 9200 may be programmed from the front panel. Simple menu trees displayed on the LCD allow the trained user to perform all functions without referring back to the program- ming manual. English Label Library: Quickly select labels from a standard library of more than 50 adjectives/nouns, such as °FLR 3 HALLWAY," or enter custom labels letter-by-letter. Use recall function to repeat previously used label. Program Check: Automatically catch common errors, such as relays not linked to any zone or point. MAINTENANCE ALERT The MS-9200 continually monitors each smoke detector and responds to a reading of 80% of the detectors alarm threshold. If the detector continually reports an 80% thresh- old reading (8/10 of what is required to be an alarm condi- tion) for 24 hours, a trouble condition is created. This reduces the risk of false alarms due to dust and dirt by alerting a trouble (maintenance) condition rather than initiat- ing a false alarm. AUTOMATIC TEST OPERATION The MS-9200 performs an automatic test of each detector every two hours. Failure to meet the test limits causes an AUTO TEST FAIL trouble type. System Reset clears this trouble. NFPA STANDARDS The MS-9200 complies with the following NFPA 72-1993 Edition, Fire Alarm Systems: LOCAL (Automatic, Manual, Waterfiow, and Sprinkler Supervisory). AUXILIARY (Automatic, Manual, and Waterfiow) (requires RTM-8F). REMOTE STATION (Automatic, Manual, and Water-flow) (requires RTM-8F or UDA CT-F). PROPRIETARY (Automatic, Manual, and Waterfiow).
