HomeMy WebLinkAbout2025-11-10; Historic Preservation Commission; Minutes; Regular Session Council Chamber 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive Carlsbad, CA 92008 HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Regular Meeting CALL TO ORDER: 6 p.m. ROLL CALL: Majer, Jacobs, May, Schreibman, Peterson PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Commissioner Jacobs led the Pledge of Allegiance. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Motion by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner Schreibman, to approve the minutes of the July 17, 2025 meeting as presented. Motion carried – 5/0. PUBLIC HEARING: None. PUBLIC COMMENT: The Brown Act allows any member of the public to comment on items not on the agenda. Please treat others with courtesy, civility, and respect. Members of the public may participate in the meeting by submitting comments as provided on the front page of this agenda. The Commission will receive comments at the beginning of the meeting. In conformance with the Brown Act, no action can occur on these items. None. DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS: 1. MILLS ACT AD HOC SUBCOMMITTEE - Create an ad-hoc subcommittee and appoint two members to help reach target audiences and share information about the benefits of a Mills Act contract. (Staff contact: Michael Strong, Assistant Director of Community Development.) Recommended Action: Create a Mills Act ad-hoc subcommittee and appoint two members to it. The commission received the report and nominated commissioners to an ad-hoc subcommittee for Mills Act information sharing. Motion by Commissioner Jacobs seconded by Commissioner May to form a Mills Act ad-hoc subcommittee as recommended by staff. Motion carried unanimously, 5/0. Motion by Commissioner Schreibman seconded by Commissioner Jacobs, nominating Commissioners Jacobs and Peterson to the Mills Act ad-hoc subcommittee. Motion carried unanimously, 5/0. 2. HISTORICAL PLAQUE NOMINATION: FOUR STAGES MURAL - Review and consider the nomination of Four Stages of History Mural at 3110 Roosevelt St, Carlsbad, CA 92008 for a historic plaque. (Staff contact: Michael Strong, Assistant Director of Community Development.) Recommended Action: Review and consider the Plaque nomination. The commission received the report. Nov. 10, 2025, 6 p.m.
