APPLICANT: SANTA ANITA DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
REQUEST: Approval of Architectural Elevations for a McDonald's
Restaurant drive-thru in the Carlsbad Shopping Center. If the drive-
thru concept is denied, approval of architectural elevations for a
McDonald's Restaurant take-out is requested.
BACKGROUND
Approval of Architectural Elevations is required by condition 26 of
Council Ordinance 9419, adopting a Specific Plan for the Shopping
Center. The applicant has submitted two (2) sets of Architectural
Elevations: Exhibit A, August 12, 1976, for the drive-thru concept;
and Exhibit B, August 13, 1976, for the take-out concept.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that Architectural Elevations for both concepts be
denied, since it has been recommended that Conditional Use Permits
for both concepts be denied.
If the Commission wishes to approve either CUP, it is recommended that
consideration of the Architectural Elevations be continued along with
approval of the CUP.
