Comparison to Schedule 40
• Dyna-Thread's inside diameter is up
to 3.6% latger lhan Sch-40 giving it
superior hydraulics. And, when used
in combination with Dyna-Flow pipe,
down sizing often occurs.

approved by UL, ULC, and FM for
fire sprinkler applicatious.
• The life expectancy of Dyna-Thread
and Sch-40 are equsl based on the
calculated wall thicknesses per UL.

Conrosion Resistance Ratio (CRR) is a
UL (Underwriters Laboratory) term for
the estimated life expectancy of a pipe
joint. This is based on the calculated
wall thickness at the base of the first
exposed thread, assumed to be the
weakest point of the pipe length. Dyna•
Thread and Sch-40 have the same
calculated wall thicknesses at this point
and are both assigned the same CRR of
1.00.
The internal surface of all black Allied
Tube & Conduit Fire Sprinkler pipe
products up to 4.5000" in diameter is
coated with our new Anttbacterial
Formula, "ABF". In scientific laboratory
test, ABS proved to have superior
resistance to microbial colonization of
pipe walls, thereby delaying or possibly
preventing the onset of
Microbiologically Influenced corrosion
(MIC) when the First Sprinkler System
is first installed.

Super 40/Dyns-Thread pipe is
manufactured to meet: ASTM A-135,
Grade A and is in compliance with
NFPA-13. All sizes of Super 40/Dyns·
Thread are rated at 300 psi working
pressure. Super 40/Dyna-Thread is UL
and ULC Listed for wet, dry deluge and
pre-action sprinkler systems and FM
Approved for use in wet systems. Super
40/Dyna· Thread can be "hot-dip"
galvanized to meet FM requirement for
dry systems. Super 40/Dyna· Thread is
approved for all threaded couplings and
welded outlets and is suitable for all
roll-grooved, and plain-end fittings.

MECHANICAL TEE
• The Shurjoint hole-cut mechanical tee provides a fast and
easy mid-point branch outlet without welding. First a hole is cut
or drilled at the desired outlet location. The mechanical tee is
then positioned so that the built-in locating collar fits within the
hole. As the housing bolts are tightened the pressure moulded
gasket fonns a leak-tight seal. Use of the Shurjoint mechanical
tee can eliminate the need for multiple couplings and fittings.
Shurjolnt offers a full range of mechanical tees:
Model 7721 Threaded outlet, NPT or B521 (150-7) pipe threads
Model 7722: Cut-grooved outlet (machined)
Model 723: Saddle-Let; Small mechanical tee with threaded
outlet, NPT or B521 (150-7) pipe threads
MECHANICAL CROSS
A mechanical cross connection can be made by combining
two mechanical tee upper housing segments. While the housing
segments must be the same size, the branch outlets can be of
the same or differing sizes or configurations.

Caution: Piping practices require that main and branch connections
are at a true 90· angle. Also be certain that the locating collar is
securely positioned inside the outlet hole before tightening the hous-
ing. When mechanical tees or mechanical crosses are used as transi-
tion pieces between two runs, the tees or crosses shall be assembled
prior to making the branch connections.
MODEL 723 SADDLE-LET (Small Mechanical Tee)
The Model 723 Saddle-Let is the ideal outlet fitting for direct
connections to sprinkler hea~s, drop nipples and or gauges. No
need for welding, just cut or drill a hole at the desired outlet loca-
tion. Position the Saddle-Let so that the locating collar fits within
the hole and secure with the U-bolt and nuts. The Saddle-Let
comes with a standard black finish or as an option can be SL!'Plied
electro zinc plated or painted orange. The Saddle-Let allows full
bore_flow and is pressure rated to 300 psi (20 bar).
