Executive Summary The Summer Reading Adventure program is an annual tradition in Carlsbad, designed to inspire a love of reading while connecting community members through enriching activities. This year’s program co‑chairs, Senior Librarian Ally Goodwin and Library Assistant Terry Bradshaw, will present an overview of the 2026 theme, “Plant a Seed, Read.” Their presentation will cover the program schedule, participation process, and a variety of events and activities. Explanation & Analysis None. Fiscal Analysis None. Next Steps None. Environmental Evaluation The proposed action is not a “project” as defined by CEQA Section 21065 and CEQA Guidelines Section 15378(b)(5) and does not require environment review under CEQA Guidelines Section 15060(c)(3) and 15061(b)(3), because the proposed action to report on Carlsbad Reads Together is an organizational or administrative government activity that does not involve any commitment LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES May 27, 2026 Item #3 Page 1 of 2 to any specific project which may result in a potentially significant physical impact on the environment.
