As I understand your request, it is based on the existing sign criteria for the property which describes a distinction between Office/Industrial and Retail tenants. However, the property is primarily an Office/Industrial property, yet we have received approvals for prior permits under the height allowance for the (F1) Retail definition for Office/Industrial tenants in the past who leased larger spaces in building D. In this case, given the nature of the tenant's company logo and the size of their leased space, it is not suitable to reduce the size to no more than 12" tall. Therefore, per the highlighted excerpt from the sign criteria below, as the property owner representative, I'd like to formally approve a variance exception to the sign criteria for this tenant and request approval of the proposed new sign as submitted. This will be consistent with the other signs in place on the building and is within the scope of the aesthetic intent for the property. Your reconsideration of this proposal is much appreciated. Submittals and Approvals There is a formal process for the creation, review and approval of all signage at Carlsbad Corporate Center. Prior to submittal to the City, plans for all proposed signage shall be submit ted to the Owner or his Authorized Agent who will review plans for conformance with the sign program. The Owner shall have the discretionary authority to deny approval for any sub mittal. I. For signage approval, such submissions shall include (3) sets of the following: a. Name, address and phone number of tenant / user b. Name, address and phone number of Sign Contractor c.
