CALL TO ORDER: 4 p.m.
ROLL CALL: Moran, Waidelich, Laufer (McBride, Sheffler -Absent).
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Chair Moran led the Pledge of Allegiance.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Minutes of the regular meeting held April 22, 2026

Due to a lack of quorum of trustees who attended the April 22, 2026 meeting, approval of the
minutes is carried over to the Library Board of Trustees regular meeting scheduled for June 24,
2026.

CONSENT CALENDAR: None.
PUBLIC HEARING: None.
DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS:
1. LIBRARY REPORTS FOR APRIL 2026: Receive the Narrative Report and Statistical Report for
April 2026 (Staff contact: Laura Stanger, Library & Cultural Arts Department)
Recommended Action: Receive the reports.
The Board received the reports.
2. FISCAL YEAR 2026-27 LIBRARY BUDGET SUBMITTAL AND LETTER OF CONCURRENCE: Receive
a report on the fiscal year 2026-27 library budget submittal and vote to accept a letter of
concurrence to be sent to City Council via memo. (Staff contact: Fiona Everett, Library &
Cultural Arts Department)
Recommended Action: Receive the report and vote on letter of concurrence.
Senior Management Analyst Fiona Everett reviewed a PowerPoint presentation (on file in the
Office of the City Clerk).

The Board received the report and voted to accept the letter of concurrence.
Trustee Laufer inquired about whether there is an adjustment for inflation for employees.
Senior Management Analyst Fiona Everett answered that the number of budgeted personnel
remains the same, however, negotiated staff wage increases are incorporated into the
budget. She also noted the maintenance and operations budget will remain unchanged, but
increases were approved in a previous fiscal year in anticipation of rising costs.
Motion by Trustee Waidelich, seconded by Trustee Laufer to accept the letter of concurrence
to be sent to City Council. Motion carried, 3/2 (McBride, Sheffler -Absent).
3. SUMMER READING ADVENTURE 2026: Receive an overview of Summer Reading Adventure
2026. (Staff contacts Terry Bradshaw and Allyson Goodwin, Library & Cultural Arts
Department)
Recommended Action: Receive the report.
Library Assistant Terry Bradshaw and Senior Librarian Allyson Goodwin reviewed a
PowerPoint presentation (on file in the Office of the City Clerk).
The Board received the report.
BOARD MEMBER COMMENTARY AND REQUESTS FOR CONSIDERATION OF MATTERS: The
Board Members reported on activities they attended.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: This section of the Agenda is designated for announcements to advise the
community regarding events that Members of the Library Board of Trustees have been invited
to, and may participate in.
STAFF COMMENTS: Deputy Library Director Sheila Crosby shared comments.

• RFID project self-check machines being deployed at the Dove Library with other locations
to follow
• TGIF Concerts in the Parks begins June 19
• Thank you letter and certificate for Chair Moran's final meeting as a trustee
