ANTIQUE RETAIL ESTABLISHMENT
561 CARLSBAD VILLAGE DRIVE
Date of Decision/Notice: November 13, 1996
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that after considering all comments received, the Housing and
Redevelopment Director of the City of Carlsbad has APPROVED an Administrative
Redevelopment Permit (ARP 96-05) for conversion of an automotive repair shop at 561 Carlsbad
Village Drive to a new retail establishment (antique store).
The property is located mid-block on the south side of Carlsbad Village Drive between the alley
and Roosevelt Street. The building is 1267 square feet in size with a 252 square feet storage
unit. The project includes 1) conversion of the land use from automotive service to retail; 2) the
addition of landscape planters; 3) new signage; and, 4) facade improvements to the exterior of
the building. The permit has been approved with conditions that landscaped planters must be
installed on the site and maintained in a healthy, thriving manner. Also, the permit prohibits the
storage or display of retail items in the parking lot area.
If you wish to appeal the decision of the Housing and Redevelopment Director on this matter to
the Design Review Board, you must file a written appeal with the Housing and Redevelopment
Department within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this decision/notice. Appeal forms are
available at the Housing and Redevelopment Department office located at 2965 Roosevelt
