Re: Case File #AV 85-3
Applicant: Kouns
Dear Sir :
We are the landowners of the property immediately next to the land
under consideration for a variance of sideyard setback. We have lived on this property since 1970 and have valued the uncrowded atmosphere and openness of this neighborhood as opposed to the
densely populated newer developed areas of the city.
We feel that this application for variance and subsequent lot split is a threat to the established value of this older neighborhood. We strongly object to the crowding and shoving of more than the reasonable amount of homes on such a property. Obviously when a variance hearing must be held to build a home or homes it calls into question the reasonable use of the property under consideration.
We appreciate that land values have escalated in the last few years and thus the desire to maximize its use. We feel that it is reasonable to split the property for two homes, instead of three, allowing sufficient room for setbacks already permitted by code. Although we are strongly against this variance request we would not object to a two home use of this neighboring property.
Thank you for your consideration of our objection in this matter.
Sincerely.
William and Diana Price
