Mr. Ron Banks

Dear Mr. Banks:
+ The Architectural Committee of La Costa Meadows Unit No. 4
has reviewed your request for approval of the cribwall you have already constructed along the northeast and northwest boundaries of your property. You have also requested approval .for a wrought iron fence of unspecified height to be constructed
along the top of the cribwall.
As part of our review, we have of course referred to the guide-
lines of the CC&R's. We have also personally inspected the
wall from your lot and have viewed it as well from Mr. Pravkr!:s
property on Corinthia. We have additionally considered the
comments and concerns expressed to us by Mr. Prafzer:;
The Architectural Committee approves the cribwall as constructed, and the wrought iron fence to be constructed, with the follow-
ing conditions:
1. The maximum height of the cribwal1,together with'the
wrought iron fence shall not exceed the height of the
cribwall as currently constructed, which is eight (8)
feet. In other words, if you wish to add the wrought
iron fence, you must reduce the height of the crib-
wall by a corresponding distance. This same require-
ment will apply if the City of Carlsbad requires a
fence. (We are not aware of any such City require-
ment. )
2. Concurrently upon the date of issuance to you of a
permit for the cribwall construction from the City
of Carlsbad, or September 25, 1987, whichever date
occurs first, the cribwall shall be planted with a quick growing cover which both (a) complements and is compatible with the ground cover and other land- scaping currently existing on the lots which the cribwall faces, and (b) when grown will cover the entire cribwall, including concrete. The cribwall
landscaping shall be maintained in a neat and attrac-
tive condition.

If the City of Carlsbad requires any alteration to
the cribwall as a part of your permit process, you
will so notify us in writing prior to your imple- menting those modifications. Thereafter, if the Architectural Committee in its reasonable discre- tion determines the requested alterations to be material to the plan approved herein, you agree to resubmit the revised plan to us for approval’.
The cribwall shall otherwise comply with all applicable City of Carlsbad requirements.
Please keep me advised concerning your progress with the
City, and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call.
Very truly yours,
