PLANNING COMMISSION
PLANNING DEPARTMENT
AV 92-06 - TAKAYAMA FENCE - Appeal of the Planning Director’s decision
to partially deny a request for an Administrative Variance to allow an
overheight wall in the front, side and rear yard setbacks of the single family
property at 1095 Palm Avenue, in Local Facilities Management Zone 1.
I. RECOMMENDATION
That the Planning Commission continue AV 92-06 to the meeting of March 1,1995 to allow for public notice.
11. PROJECT BACKGROUND
On Janualy 18, the Planning Commission heard the applicant’s appeal of the Planning
Director’s decision to deny an Administrative Variance for portions of an overheight wall
in the front, side, and rear yard of his property. Mer review of the circumstances involved
with the subject property and neighboring properties, the Planning Commission determined
that there were grounds for granting additional relief and directed staff to return with
findings allowing a six foot high wall, as measured from the exterior or interior elevation,
whichever is higher.
Upon review of the proper procedures for processing an appeal of an Administrative
Variance, it was found that a public hearing is required. Therefore, staff is requesting that
this item be continued to the March 1, 1995 Planning Commission meeting to allow for
proper public noticing.
