HomeMy WebLinkAboutAV 99-10; Sulli RV Variance; Administrative Variance (AV) (6)- City of Carlsbad March 27,2000 Mr. Paul Sulli 4866 Sevilla Way Carlsbad CA 92008 SUBJECT: Request for Permission to Park a Recreational Vehicle in the Front Yard Setback at 4866 Sevilla Way The Planning Director has completed a review of your request to park an 8'-8" wide, 20' long boat in your front yard setback, pursuant to section 21.44.060 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code. After careful consideration of the circumstances surrounding this request, the Planning Director has determined that the findings required for allowing the parking of a recreational vehicle in the front yard setback can be made and therefore APPROVES this request based on the following findings. Findinas: 1. That parking in or access to the side yard would require structural alteration to the existing residence or would require the removal of significant or unique landscaping in that the left side yard is 7' wide and the right side 4'-IO" wide from fireplace to property line, which does not allow for an 8'4" wide boat. 2. That parking in or access to the side or rear yard would require extensive grading in that the property slopes upward at the sides and rear of the property. 3. That allowing the recreational vehicle in the front yard will not interfere with traffic on the street or sidewalk or encroach into the street and utility right of way or interfere with visibility to or from any street in that there is adequate site distance and the lot in question is an interior lot.
