Also, you have requested that SDG&E comment on the placement of the existing chain link fence, tool shed, and pool/spa equipment within the existing easement. Since the easement does not specifically prohibit the construction of structures, SDG&E cannot prevent you from doing so. However, for obvious and practical reasons, we strongly discourage any construction of a building under high voltage power lines. It is very dangerous. Also, it should be pointed out that lending institutions and insurance underwriters may be reluctant to finance or insure a building constructed under an easement, particularly under a high voltage electric line. General Order 95 of the Public Utilities Commission of the State of Califomia requires a twelve (12) fool minimum vertical and six (6) foot horizontal clearances between the electrical wires and buildings. Also, during construction, CAL-OSHA requires that a workman must be a minimum of ten (10) feet away from the nearest high voltage line.
