PROJECT NAME: La Costa .Glen Corporate Center -Minor COP Amendment
APPLICANT NAME: Continuing Life Communities, LLC
Please describe fully the Rroposed project by application type. Indude any details
necessarY to adequately explain the scope' and/or operation of the proposed project.
You may also include any background information and supporting statements regarding
the reasons fOf, or appropriateness of, the application. Use an addendum sheet if
neces~ary.
DescriptionfExplanation:
The proposed project is an amendment to the recently approved Coastal Development
Permit to allow for a soil stockpile on the La Costa Glen Corporate Center site (CDP 05-
51). The proposed project site currently exists as a previously pernritted vacant graded
pad containing pre\iously farmed areas. No structures currently exist onsite. The
proposed project site is located just west of El Camino Real on Calle Barcelona. The La
Costa Glen retirement community and the Forum retail shops exist to the east of the
project site. Preserved open space (Green Valley Lot 10) exists to the west, north and
south of the project site.
The project proposes to stockpile approximately 21,159 cubic yards of:fill on the La
Costa Glen Corporate Center site. The fill will come from the nearby La Costa Glen
Retirement Community building area. Grading of the last phase of that project requires
the export of 21,159 cubic yards offill. The fill will be transported to the Corporate
Center site for temporary stockpiling. The Corporate Center site has been approved for
development and the fill will remain stockpiled only temporarily (less than 180 days)
until grading begins on the Corporate Center site. Once grading begins, the stockpiled
:fill will be used as import and will he incorporated into the grading of the site.
