HomeMy WebLinkAboutCDP 97-15; Wollan Residence; Coastal Development Permit (CDP) (3)City of Carlsbad Planning Department June 18, 1997 Don Wollan 5001 Tierra Del Oro Carlsbad, CA 92008 MINOR COASTAL DEVELOPMENT PERMIT/CDP 97-15 - DECISION LETTER In accordance with Section 21.201.080 of the City's Zoning Ordinance, which regulates the processing of Minor Coastal Permits, the Planning Department is prepared to take action on permit number CDP 97-15. Project Description: Residential construction to an existing single family residence consisting of: (1) a 546 sq. ft. conversion of an existing garage to living area; (2) a second story addition (560 sq. ft) over the newly converted living area, and; (3) the construction of 675 sq. ft. of new garage space. All proposed improvements are located on the eastern portion of the lot/existing structure, and no impacts or encroachments to the blufftop area are involved. Project Processing: Submittal date: May 9, 1997 Complete date: May 27, 1997 Notice period: May 28-June 18, 1997 Decision date: June 18, 1997 The Planning Director hereby APPROVES CDP 97-15 based on the findings and subject to the conditions listed below: Findings: 1. The project is consistent with the Local Coastal Program which designates the subject site for single family development. The proposed residential remodel and additions comply with applicable standards and does not impact coastal resources. 2. No coastal access or recreation impacts are associated with the proposed improvements to the existing blufftop residence. The project's cost of development has been determined to be less than $60,000. 4. No other discretionary entitlements are required for this project. Conditions: 1. The Planning Director does hereby APPROVE the Minor Coastal Permit, CDP 97-15 for the single family remodel/addition project entitled "Wollan Residence". (Exhibit(s) "A"-"D", dated June 18, 1997, on file in the Planning Department and incorporated by this reference, subject to the conditions herein set forth. Staff is authorized and directed to make, or require the Developer to make, all corrections and modifications to the Minor Coastal Permit documents, as necessary to make them internally consistent and in conformity with the final action on the project. Development shall occur substantially as shown on the approved Exhibits. Any proposed development substantially different from this approval, shall require an amendment to this approval. 2. The effective date for this permit shall be after City and Coastal Commission appeal periods have been exercised. 3. The Developer shall apply for and be issued building permits for this project within 2 years of approval or this Coastal Development Permit will expire unless extended per Section 21.201.210 of the Zoning Ordinance.
