SUBJECT: SDP 97-lS/CDP 97-40 - PALOMAR BEACH RESORT REVISIONS
Dear Bill:
The Planning Department has reviewed your proposed revisions to the approved Site
Development Plan and Coastal Development Permit for the Carlsbad Beach Hilton Garden Inn
at the southeast corner of Carlsbad Boulevard and Palomar Airport Road. The proposed
revisions are shown on the attached plans and include:
l Relocation of the loading area from the southeastern area of the building
westward,
l Realignment of the parking circulation area and enhancement of the landscaped
area, including a screening wall, adjacent to the loading area,
l Replacement of vista fountain with a gazebo, with access walkways,
l Segregation of the hotel courtyard area into a pool area and function lawn,
l The inclusion of a Porte cochere at the hotel entrance
Also received was a signed agreement with the Solamar Homeowner’s Association, dated June
3, 1998, approving the proposed revisions to the plan, including, but not limited to, the
relocation of the loading area.
The Planning Department has determined that the proposed revisions are minor in nature and
the proposed development substantially conforms to the approved Site Development Plan and
