LAS FLORES CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE UPDATE
On February 14, 2001, I attended a meeting with you and representatives of Las Flores
Church. The representatives expressed concern about staffs position that the church's
CUP was no longer valid. You requested I consult with the city attorney's office on this
matter and report back to you.
Planning staff has requested and received advice from the city attorney's office. In
short, the city attorney has determined the CUP:
0 Is valid as to the existing church sanctuary
0 Has expired as to the additional building phases of the church that were
approved but never built, and, therefore, the church must make a new
application to expand.
Since Las Flores Church has a valid CUP, it can file an amendment to the CUP to
expand. The attached letter to a representative of the church discusses this.
