The proposed project involves amending CUP-118, which would allow the Carlsbad Historical Society to move the original City Hall Library to a new location in Magee Park. The 2.1 acre park site is located north of Beech Avenue, between Carlsbad Boulevard and Garfield Street. The site is relatively flat, with no significant plant or animal species present. The historical "Magee House" and 3 smaller buildings are existing on the site. The subject property is surrounded by a variety of residential and non-residential uses. No grading
or land form alteration, except for minor pad preparation, will be required for the move-on.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that a declaration of negative environmental impact be made with regard to the proposed project.
JUSTIFICATION
1. The proposed project will not involve any significant land form alteration, and thus will not result in any
significant environmental impacts.
2. The proposed move-on will serve to compliment existing
structures on the park site.
