DATE : April 28, 1978
TO : D.C.C.
FROM: Don L. Rose, Current Planning
SUBJECT: CUP 150
Attached is the background portion of the staff report scheduled for the May 10, 1978 Planning Commission meeting.
The recommendation will not be completed until all comments
and suggested conditions of approval have been received.
If you have some conditions you would like to suggest, please
bring them to the D.C.C. meeting. Some of the kinds of
conditions we are looking for are:
1. Parking requirements - the Code would require 16
off-street spaces.
2. Should there be some sort of solid barrier between
the club and neighboring residential?
3. Hours of operation - should they be restricted?
4. Is it necessary to restrict the uses by listing them
in the C.U.P.?
5. What should be required in the way of public improvements?
6. Should the C.U.P. specify the occupancy load of the
building?
7. Landscaping requirements - are they needed?
8. Since the zone is R-1, should the residential character of the building be preserved?
9. Supervision requirements - are they needed?
We have received a telephone protest from one of the property owners notified by mail. It is possible that more protests will follow. This protestor claimed that the members of the
club are unruly and make poor neighbors and that supervision
is very inadequate. We have asked the property owner to write a letter for attachment to the staff report.
