with Tom Thompson, a remesentative of Carlson Design Company, serving as agent for the applicant, at the Departmental Coordinating Committee meeting of June 19. Evaluation of the project by staff resulted in a recommendation of denial based on poor vehicular and pedestrian circulation design and a detrimental affect on the development of the downtown community.
Mr. Thompson has requested a continuance, to the Planning Commission meeting of July 11, 1979, to relay staff's report and concerns to the principal applicant. Carlson Design Company hopes to work with their client to revise the proposed plans to alleviate staff's objections.
While staff feels the problems with this project are basic, we recommend the Planning Commission agree to the applicant's request, and continue this item for one additional meeting to allow them the opportunity to submit an acceptable plan.
