Box 1121 Carlsbad, Calif. 92008 June 2, 1981 Dear Property Owner: Re: Arcade/Amusement Center You recently received a notice from the City of Carlsbad Planning Commission notifying you of the request for, and a public hearing regarding, a Conditional Use Permit requested by Rix-Tex, Inc. to construct an Arcade/Amuse- ment Center. A petition opposing this permit is now being circulated in the area, however, we are also taking this means of contacting those of you whose address is listed only as a post office box. We, the owners'of condominium units at the Monterey complex at 3080 Lincoln St. , Carlsbad, already have many .noise, traffic, and other problems stemming from the Market, Tavern, etc. located on a promin9nt corner in the area. We hope that you will join us in protesting, and going on record as being opposed to this amusement center, either by appearing at the Planning Commission Meeting on Wednesday, June loth, at 7:OO P.M. if at all possible, or if not possible, by signing and returning to the above Dost office box the bottom Dortion of this form. Your iknediate attention is requested, as we are running out of time before the hearing. Since we have constant problems now with the traffic, and noise from the market, tavern, and etc., which are located on the corner of Oak and Lincoln, and the problems which would arise from an amusement center on Oak street, not ONLY from noise, but from traffic problems and people loitering in the area, will create a very undesireable effect on the rest of the neighborhood.
