PLEASE TAKE NOTICE:
The Land Use Planning Office of the City of Carlsbad intends to
prepare a Negative Declaration for the following project:
Project Description: Request for approval of a Conditional Use Permit
to develop 33, 1 bedroom apartment units for senior housing in the RD-
M-Q zone.
Project address/Location: 987 Chinquapin Avenue - Soutwest corner of
Harrison Street and Chinquapin Avenue.
Anticipated significant impacts: None
We need to know your ideas about the effect this project might have
on the environment and your suggestions for ways the project could be
revised to reduce or avoid any significant environmental damage.
Your ideas will help us decide what issues to analyze in the environ-
mental review of this project.
Your comments on the environmental impact of the proposed project may
be submitted in writing to the Land Use Planning Office, 1200 Elm
Avenue, Carlsbad, CA 92008, no later than October 8, 1982.

NOTICE OF DETERMINATION
This is to advise that the City of Carlsbad on November 16, 1982, approved
the following project:
Project Description: Conditional use permit for a 37 unit privately
funded senior citizen housing project. ;;:;
Project Address/Location: 987 Chinquapin Avenue - Southwest corner of
Harrison Street and Chinquapin Avenue.
The City made the following determinations regarding the environmental
impact, of the above described project:
1. The project will not have a significant effect on the environment,
2. Mitigation measures were not made a condition of the approval of this
project.
A copy of the Negative Declaration with supporting document is available
for public review at the Land Use Planning Office, City Hall, 1200 Elm
Avenue, Carlsbad, CA 92008.

NEGATIVE DECLARATION
PROJECT ADDRESS/LOCATION: West side of Harrison Street 'between
Locust Street & Chinquapin Avenue. ;

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Request for a General Plan Amendment to
redesignate a .67 acre parcel from RMH (Residential Median-High
Density, 10-20 DU/AC) to RH (Residential High Density ?0-30 DU/AC).
City of Carlsbad has conducted an environmental review of the
above described project pursuant to the Guidelines for Implementation
of the California Environmental Quality Act and the Environ) rental
Protection Ordinance of the City of Carle-bad. As a result of said
review, a Negative Declaration (declaration that the project will not
have a significant impact on the environment) is hereby '/ issued for the
subject project. Justification for this action is on file in the
Planning Department. . j
A copy of the Negative Declaration with supportive documents is on
file in the Planning Department, City Hall, 1200 Elm Avenue, Carlsbad,
CA. 92008. Comments from the public are invited. Please submit
comments in writing to the Planning Department within ten (10) days of
