It is my understanding that the Carlsbad Raceway has made application to expand and permit all types of racing events at their raceway, which they are operating under a conditional use permit.
We have approximately 500 homes constructed in our devel- opment together with all other facilities which is a total expenditure in excess of 18 million dollars. I have received numerous complaints on Saturdays and Sundays from residents and guests concerning the noise produced by the extremely powerful cars. I realize that the raceway is so far removed from the residential area of Carlsbad that it would not bother the residents in the least but it is certainly proving to be quite a problem in our area. can even hear the public address announcer giving the exact times and speeds of these automobiles.
