Gentlemen:
I, Beverly Kalicka, am the sole owner of some 37 acres of
property which is a portion of Section 18, Tl2 SR3W which
is located easterly and northerly of the Carlsbad Raceway
drag strip. ation is up for an additional ten-year use permit.
It is my understanding that this drag strip oper-
1 am strongly opposed to the granting of the additional ten
years for this operation. Development in the area has been
stopped from the time of the initial granting and I believe
that the drag strip has been responsible for this factor. The drag strip operation is located in the center of poten-
tial residential property and I feel that it should be re-
located to an area of manufacturing wherein the noise and
traffic factors are not a problem.
I think the City Council should weigh all of the factors be-
fore granting an extension of time for this operation and
especially before granting a ten-year extension period.
