SUBJECT: Signs Adjoining South Coast Asphalt Property
Dear Mr. L'Heureux:
In your letter dated January 5, 1979, regarding the conversion of the lunchroom trailer back to a construction trailer, you also asked for an investigation of some signs on nearby property. Evidently these are the same signs that you noted last February as being illegally placed in Carlsbad.
Last year the only illegal signs in this area we found were in
Oceanside. (The City boundary is generally the south side of Haymar not Highway 78). At that time we contacted Oceanside's Code Enforcement Officer to have them removed. My staff again inspected the general area on January 25, 1979, and found no illegal signs in the general area. They did find signs advertising "Peacock Hills" and "Broadmore Homes" at the northeast corner of College and Haymar, which is definitely
in Oceanside.
The only explanations I have is that either these signs are put up and removed periodically or they are signs on trailers that are brought in on the weekends. Even if this is true,
I believe the signs would be in Oceanside for best exposure to Highway 78.
Sincerely, *
