OPEN SPACE ADVISORY COMMITTEE WORKSHOP
The City of Carlsbad announced today a special meeting of the Open Space Advisory
Committee, to be held on September 26, 1991, at 6:OO p.m. in the Carlsbad Safety and
Service Center, 2560 Orion Way, Carlsbad, CA. Materials for this meeting will be available
to the public for review after September 17, 1991, in the Carlsbad Planning Department,
at 2075 Las Palmas Drive, Carlsbad, CA. These materials will also be available at the
meeting.
In June 1990, the Carlsbad City Council appointed 9 members to the Open Space Advisory
Committee to assist in the preparation of the Open Space and Conservation Resource
Management Plan and to address other open space issues. The Open Space and
Conservation Resource Management Plan will primarily be an implementation program for
the Open Space and Conservation Element. It will prioritize open space preservation and
acquisition and will contain programs to administer, manage, acquire and finance open
space and trails in the City.
In order to help the Committee formulate specific recommendations regarding the
establishment of Open Space priorities in the City, a special public meeting of the
Committee has been scheduled. This will be a good opportunity for citizens to provide
suggestions and insights to the Committee on establishing open space priorities. All are
encouraged to attend.
