Dl 95-01 - PLANNING COMMISSION PROCEDURES
The following corrections/additions are proposed by staff for the Commission's
consideration on the above case:
+ Concerning the insertion of language in the Planning Commission procedures
Resolution about the election of officers, staffs position is that this is not
necessary as the matter is covered in the Ordinance which created the
Commission. However if the Commission chooses to include a section which
deals with the election of officers, it is recommended that the new text be placed
between items 5 and 6 or between items 16 and 17, and that all subsequent
sections be renumbered accordingly. The language could be taken from the
Ordinance and could read:
This language is as it appears in the Municipal Code section 2.24.050, except that
"Chairman" has been changed to read "Chairperson".

+ Page 11 - It is recommended that the order of three items on this page be
rearranged and renumbered accordingly. The current item 34 would be moved
to the location of the current item 32; the current 32 should be rewritten as shown
below and become the new 33:

It is also recommended that a portion of the language from the existing 32 be
placed at the beginning of existing 34(a) as follows:
The recommended changes under this bullet point are to make these procedures
and steps consistent with closing the public hearing after the Planning
Commission votes.
Attached is a copy of the Chapter 2.24 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code which deals with
the Planning Commission and its creation.
