It is my understanding that terraced foundations were not required so that the proposed residence would be comparatable with the hillside form. The other surrounding residences are one story and have compatible setbacks from the slope edge. Allowing this building as proposed would be inconsistent with the spirit of the laws passed to protect the community against such blights to our visible hillsides. will continue to consewe the look and the natural appearance of the hills of our city by denying this building as proposed. We oppose the approval of the project at the end of Htghland Drive as The building as proposed is two story, vertical wlth an inadequate setback We are longtime residents of Carlsbad and we hope that the Commission Janet L.
