The City has 30 calendar days from the date of application submittal to determine whether an application is complete or incomplete. Within 30 days of submittal of this application you will receive a letter stating whether this application is complete or incomplete. If it is incomplete, the letter will state what is needed to make this application complete. When the application is complete, the processing period will start upon the date of the completion letter. Per SMA Section 66451.1, this time limit may be extended by mutual consent of the applicant and the city to allow for concurrent processing of related approvals or an environmental review of the project. By accepting applications for tentative parcel maps concurrently with applications for other approvals that are prerequisites to the map (e.g., Environmental Information Form, Environmental Impact Report, Condominium Permit, Planned Unit Development), the 50-day time limit is often exceeded.
